Out of interest, will you guys be recording some gameplay videos for these two games?

If it's allowed, we will, just like last year.
Along with this came a press statement.

Eurogamer's comment that PES 2010 'plays similar to FIFA 09' sounds good, but not when you consider that people who have played FIFA 10 said they can't go back to playing FIFA 09.
"Character models are top notch." Seriously? I always found them to be quite lackluster.
FIFA 10's Lampard on the other hand is what player models should look like if you want authenticity:

The first screen of the in-game shot of Henry, Ronaldo and co. emphasis what I was talking about regarding how different the faces look once they are on the pitch with facial expressions. Look at Ronaldo there: he looks like a horse with those teeth, and Kaka looks more like Danny Agger than Kaka. It's me nit-picking, yes; but that first shot screams PES 2008 all over it with slightly better lighting and better textures and player face models, but not the overall model itself. Still got a very old and archiac look to it, and even more so now in light of that other football sim, which is pretty much battering everything this game is doing in every single department. Konami's battle is already lost. They just don't know it yet.

It still looks better than FIFA's though, and I don't understand why you're continuing to argue against that - if anything's an already lost battle, it's that.
Don't get me wrong, FIFA looks better visually from a wide angle - in other words, what you see whilst actually playing - but if there's one thing PES has always come out on top in, it's player faces.
You may think I'm being pedantic, but these details are important. If they are slacking at the little things, then how on earth can they expect to even compete with what EA are going to put out in Fifa 10? This game ain't winning no fans back, and if it does, then they are wasting 40 quid because I know already where my money is going...again.
OK, had another ganders at these screenies, and honestly, nothing is new...at all. The faces are better, yes; but those models STILL have that PS2 appearance to them. There are two flaws I've spotted in the image where Liverpool and Barca are in the tunnel, and I have to ask this: is Pepe Reina baking a cake? Look at them gloves. How can anyone say those models are good when details like that are so atrociously done. Another mistake is that they don't even have Liverpool's kit accurate. Look at the collar. LFC's kit has a V-neck. It's not round like in these screens. Also, are they waiting for a train? Looks like they are in a underground train station in New York or something.

and yes there is no train waiting bullshit, its just a screenshot, if i take a pic of fifa09 at the exactly same spot in tunnel, would look the same, u have to see the game moving to judge, the player models, graphic, gameplay end everything ealse, hopefully we will see some videos soon in here. about modeling in general, pes always was on top, especialy the players faces, there is a large number of players having the real face in the games, sins in ps2 days. in fifa always had huge amount of generic faces in the game, apart from the big clubs, even the big clubs had some wired faces, but i must admit in fifa09 the players models and the faces have improved greatly.
the most importend thing is the gameplay, reading news from people whu played the code 60% of fifa10 and 70% code of pes10, it sems both games have impoved alot which is fantastic news. i guess only the demo will make people decide which game to buy, me personaly i will get them both, depending if i enjoy both demos

The above, however, looks incredibly accurate. If this is representative for the full game then the PES team nailed it imho.
Anyway, the latest screens & trailer of FIFA 10 put this argument to rest, there is absolutely no contest:
