The trailer has so many render order glitches (objects being rendered on top of particles the objects are behind). Kind of a pet peeve of mine.

First day buy for me. I loved RTCW and it still stands as the best multiplayer experience I've had gaming.

For some reason I find these visuals to be very old school. Nothing to get really excited about.

I would be disappointed if this is using the RAGE Engine. (Which I think doesn't)

Supposedly it uses a modified version of Tech 4.
I think that's what Quake4 used too, though I may be wrong.

Yep, this, Doom 3, Quake 4, Prey, and Enemy Territory Quake Wars all use versions of id tech 4.

looks already dated.. probably due to the fact that its been in developement for so long. A shame they didnt see-out the open world visioning for wolfenstein. Opting for the basic generic game that people have come to expect from the franchise.

Might be worth some mindless fun... if you can stomach the story of one American yet again destroying the whole german nazi race

Looks like it could be really cool

IF MP is as fun as Enemy Territory I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

A shame the main character from Dead Rising decided to fight nazis though...

Yeah, yeah, calm down there.

Anyway, I've been feeling like reinstalling the old PC version of this game, and how I miss the MP. It was fast, furious, addictive, and most of all seriously fun. *BOOOM* "NEED A MEDIC!" "ZE ENEMY IS WEAKENED!"

Enemy Territory was indeed good.. but unless i'm remembering this incorrectly, i believe it had different developers than the ones that worked on the single player.

So i dont think these guys worked on ET

Any game that allows you to flamethrower people in the face has my vote!

:oD

The lighting still looks cool, even if it is an old engine. I got Doom3 running on my rig last night (just *upgraded* (if you can call it that) to Vista 64 bit), 1880x1440 plus everything up full, still looks the business. The atmosphere alone is worth another playthrough.

Is it ID who are developing this, or has the engine been offloaded to some other devs?

It is Raven software who are developing the game. They are good friends with id Software I believe.

It's, to me, just the lighting that looks behind the times. Player models and effects, fire and lightning, look very good.

And does anyone else think the main character design is uninspired? Generic as can be--he could be dressed from the 40s or from today. In fact, he looks a bit like the character from Uncharted.
