XBLA: Boom Boom Rocket today

XBLA: Boom Boom Rocket today

It's Boom Boom Rocket's turn to be released this week on Xbox Live Arcade. I'v really enjoyed playing this game on the debug XBLA the last few weeks, so I really recommend giving this game a try. Thankfully you can download the demo for free! New images inside.
Update: XCN just sent us this nice interview of Craig Howard, Design Manager on BBR. As always it's an interesting read.

Downloaded the Trial, pretty fun game. Easy-Medium I was owning. However, when I got to the 2nd song and found out I could only choose Hard, yea, that thing kicked my ass. I'm a nub :/

That's actually a damn good idea. I wonder if that's possible. You'd have to memorize which color button on the guitar corresponds with which button on the controller though I'd imagine.

Anyway, I think the game looks real cool, although $10 seems a little steep. I mean, really, the same price as Symphony of the Night?

It would work and the colours are the same I think. What would be difficult though are when you get a certain two colours together, you would have to press with your index finger and little finger at the same time, which might be awkward.

The colored fret keys on the guitar map exactly to the same colored ones on the default controller (not the orange one obviously). I don't know how many songs you get with the full version of this game, but I agree that Symphony of the Night was the first title which I paid that price gladly for.

Hehe, you get to do that plenty in Guitar Hero anyways.

About the game

What's up?
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @AndreasZ94: for consoles 3d gaming (with a few exceptions) started with the 32bit era. for people playing on computers they's been a steady stream of 3d games from back to the early 80's (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Yea.. NPCs in single player games should send you hate mail, like real people ;) (6 Hours ago)
  • AndreasZ94
AndreasZ94 @MrWhite: I feel like its the enemy reactions to getting shot that's the real problem, they recover so fast and act like they never got shot (8 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @AndreasZ94: I've only played a bit of U4, but from what I did, it wasn't a big step up from 3. (9 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Ellie helping you out in melee situations was fun too. It's their only game where they made some good gameplay design elements when it came to enemies. (9 Hours ago)
  • AndreasZ94
AndreasZ94 @MrWhite: Are u talking about U4 because i feel like the gunplay was pretty good, same for U2 (9 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @AndreasZ94: Certainly their best game of combining both, hence why I think its their best. They got the pacing right, but it also had a extra element in horror. (9 Hours ago)
