Atlus' RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio has just been revealed in more detail in a showcase. Presented by Studio Zero director Katsura Hashino, we also learned the game's release date: October 11 2024. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
Ereban: Shadow Legacy was originally announced in June 2022 and it finally came out on April 10 on PC. It's a stealth platformer game which may not be perfect but has a lot of heart. The gameplay mechanics work well, aside from the few camera issues when navigating on walls with the shadow power, and you can do some pretty cool things. There's still room for improvement as enemies could be more varied and the gadgets you can unlock/craft never really seem indispensable enough to give the incentive to get them and upgrade them all, at least in our opinion. That said, the art style is excellent and the game's atmosphere is pretty solid overall, which, combined with th fun we had playing through the different levels, makes it a promising first game by the developers. It's not perfect by any means, but if you enjoyed the first Aragami, Ereban is way better than its disappointing sequel and it's a nice take on the stealth genre, especially for 24.99€/$24.99.
Six years after they released the first episode, Warhorse Studios officially unveiled the first trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which should come out this year. It's a pleasant surprise to see that games are now revealed closer to their final release, though a delay is still possible as it has now also become quite usual.
After the very good Lacuna - A Sci-Fi Noir Adventure, which we showed you in video 2 years ago, developers DigiTales Interactive are back with Between Horizons. While the detective aspect of the story remains fairly similar, the sci-fi context is very different. Here is the beginning of the adventure in our video.
Horizon Forbidden West has been available on PC for some time now, and you can watch our video in 4K. The additions to this PC version are pretty interesting, with support for Ultrawide 21:9 and Super Ultrawide 32:9 resolutions, and even 48:9 if you're using three screens. Nvidia technologies are also present, with DLSS 3 for upscaling, as well as frame generation, DLAA and Reflex. Owners of AMD or Intel cards are not left out, as FSR and XeSS are also supported. Finally, there are plenty of graphics settings, which you can see at the start of our video. To summarise, it's an excellent port that we hope will appeal to PC gamers.
We have been given a few days headstart to try the prologue of Akatori, a new Metroidvania game developed by Code Wakers. Its pixel art art style looks gorgeous and though it doesn't seem to aim at renewing the genre, we're still very curious to see what the full game will be like. The use of the character's staff as both a weapon and a means of traversal is pretty cool and the platforming element works well. In the demo, which will be available to all on April 19, you get to explore a whole donjon and we advise you to take your time to do so instead of running headfirst to the final boss of this first chapter. It's not that it's especially challenging, but there are several items that will grant you more health or new combat moves to be found. Getting crystal shards by beating enemies or simply destroying the crystals that are scattered around will also allow you to have access to a few goodies with the local merchants. Note that the following video does not feature all the content of the demo so you still have a few things to discover on your own.
Star Wars Outlaws reveals a little more with this new trailer, and we also learned that the game will be released on August 30 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 still needs to be optimized to be perfectly enjoyable on PC and consoles but we keep playing on PC and our archer is now Level 55. In the following HDR videos recorded thanks to GeForce NOW Ultimate a few days ago, we're showing the volcanic island situated in the southern part of the map and the region of Battahl.
Minishoot' Adventures is probably a game that wasn't on your radar, even though a demo has been available on Steam for some time. To be honest, we hadn't heard of it either, but we don't regret asking for a review code as we really had a blast playing this Metroidvania x shoot 'em up game. If you've always wanted to try the bullet hell genre but never dared to, SoulGame's title is a very good entry as its normal mode is not too challenging. Two other modes are also available (easy and hard) to appeal to all sorts of players. The following video is our French review but we've added a full segment without any commentary so you can see the game in action (timecode: 05:49) but the best way to find out if it's for you is to give the demo a try. Considering it was made by a core team of two people, we're pretty impressed by what they have achieved. It should take you between 9/10 to 15 hours to complete so it's not too long, which is also a good thing in our book. That said, we got so hooked we wouldn't have minded a few more areas to explore. Aside from that, we loved all the game had to offer and we hope you will too.
