Help rayy buy a new HDTV

Hello Im planing to buy a new HDTV to use it as my pc monitor and television in my bedroom. Im looking for a lcd hdtv that is betwen 400 and 800$ price point, and that is 26 inch and beyond. Nothing below 26 please.

Also I will like you to tell me whats the diference betwen the higher prices with the lowest price tv I put here. If you found another good tv that isn't in this list I put, I will like you to show it to me.

Also I will like to know what all of this TV is the best to use it as a pc monitor because it will probably for what Im going to use it the most.

For PC use you really want 1-1 pixel mapping

Have you considered a good monitor and TV card?
(Just to make that list a tinsy bit longer).

And I still don't have mine. I hate how all the good deals are online. But really, I wouldn't buy a TV without first seeing it. I guess it's something like check online, go to store to see the TV, go back online and buy it.

Anyone have an idea of how reliable Olevia is? How about Viewsonic?

Viewsonic uses thompson componants and are ment to good for the price.

I know is a big list but you dont need to look of all them I just want you to tell me if u know any good tv betwen 400 and 800$ that are 26 inch and up.

I just want to know what you think to decide for what to buy hehehehe I know is much to ask for help ;) and lol plumber im going to gift you my 11 inch CRT so you can play X360 at all his glory :P

And roxwell I have a nice card. Its a 7600 geforce and I have now a 19 inch monitor but im going to sell it to my brother. I also want a tv for my bedroom so I though I could buy a LCD Tv to use it as a pc monitor and a TV as well.

I use my old VCR for a tuner :)

Samsung LNS2651D 26"

I've got the 32" model, and its lovely. It makes me want to, wipe it with the cleaning cloth...in places Samsung didn't even know it had...and then, press its power button, till that sweet, sweet melody charm clicks, and the picture appears on the screen...and then I just...I just ...............................gaahhhh!! Yea I'd get the Samsung.

I was actually opting for the 46" Sharp Aquos but the 46" Samsung had the better brightness and over all better picture quality. Not to mention, that one didn't have VGA so the 360 would've been left out in the cold.

Sorta OT but Sharp demoed an LCD at CES with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. I wonder when their new tech will hit the streets. That would get me back on the LCD bandwaggon in no time.

Well I have read a lot of review and stuff and I think im going with the sansung it just look so great, but those viewsonic look so cheap :S but im kind of worrie about them.

Only difference is one is 26" and one is 27". If you think 1" is worth $98 more get the one from Walmart. They're virtually identical in specs. Perhaps the models, while similar have different brightness, but on paper they're basically the same. I'd examine them in the store if you have a chance. Warrants a visit to Best Buy, Circuit City or Walmart I say!

Yes, 1,000,000:1. I don't know why you'd pass though, I'm sure it looks awesome. Sony had a 1,000,000:1 OLED screen on display too, but that's far less suprising.

Well I already seem them both sansun toguether and I get to compare betwen. And for me they really look identical. Both look beutifull. I still deciding if 1 inch more worth my 98 $ you know I can buy a game with that and some playboy magazines :D kidding :P

Because i have sensitive eyes lol... that kind of contrast (assuming it has the luminance to back it up) would hurt most peoples eyes. (I reckon)

The TV Terra was on about the other day was 200'000:1 and the guy said that it hurt his eyes when watching it. (in extreme conditions, IE pure white screen)

I think 1'000'000:1 is probably at the (extreme) point where a human couldn't tell the difference anyway, most people would end up squinting because it was too bright.

I wouldn't knock it till I saw it i guess, but sounds too bright for my liking. (there is such a thing as going too far)

Another thing is when will we see these sets ??? SED has been around for ages now and still they aren't on the market to consumers.

Instead of manfacturers trying to out-do each other they should settle for 100'000:1 and make it a reality first.
