800 MS-points for 3 maps.. LOL, the raping has begun again..

I feel sorry for all the suckers that buy it.. I know it's a Utopia, but I wish nobody would buy it and leave MS flabbergasted.. That's the only way to make them stop raping us gamers with their premium DLC BS.. But that will never happen unfortunatly.. They know plenty of people simply can't resist the temptation, bend over and pay up..

Thankfully I'm happy with the maps that came with the game for my Horde needs (I don't play versus online).. I'll download these extra few maps when they become free (I presume they will be eventually just like with GoW1)..

As much as I love Gears of War 2, there is no bloody way I am paying 800 MS points for 3 maps. I'll wait until they are free, which will inevitably happen.

I very much doubt it.. It will most likely be like all other premium DLC, meaning if you didn't buy the mappack, you're out!

Yup, MS really cares about building online communities.. If they can make as much money of of it as possible that is.. And I curse at Epic for selling their soul.. Epic used to be one of the top PC developers with great aftersales support with lots of free content.. But now that their are on the consoles, They've lost it..

Well i for one am not too bothered as the game i paid for was more than worth the money for me, so all these map add-on's are there for thoes that wish to buy it or wait until the free ones arrive, if Epic/MS with to add a new DLC SP chapter i'll buy it day one.

Although I like the mp, the horrible matchmaking has really been the reason I don't play it anymore.. It just takes too damn long to get into a game....

When was the last time you tried? as after the last 2 updates from Epic matchmaking is now much better.

Since the first patch i have not taken more than 3mins to get into a game, but another fix has been done also last week.

Hey all,

As of Tuesday of this week (Dec 9th), we successfully completed the reconfiguration of our matchmaking servers allowing us to have more players per server. This optimization allows us to take greater advantage of our Nov 27th title update. Based on what we're seeing so far, matchmaking times have improved significantly. To be realistic though, there will still be times when a particular playlist is low on available players or there isn't a party of the right size to merge with yours but overall, you should get into a match much quicker than before.

We're really excited to see just how many people are playing Gears 2 multiplayer. Execution, with over 1.8 million matches so far, has finally surpassed Horde as number 1 with its 1.7 million.

And we're not done yet. As we get more data, we're continuing to monitor and adjust the process to try and make it as streamlined as possible.

Again, we want to thank everyone for their patience and we're looking forward to playing with you online.

MS points ruining the gaming :( for me at least. When I pay 60€ for game I would want to get some free content to it after release. Then again I am mainly PC gamer so I am used to get all the awesome stuff for free (meaning the additional content not the games).

In fairness, the matchmaking is actually decent now. I'm not saying it's great, but it's an improvement; I can actually appreciate how great the online is now.

EPIC should work on the finetuning of their MP, the glitches and the lag (or host selection if that would be the cause) instead of raping their customers.

Well I can't buy them anyway, game was not released and is allready banned in germany, no support by MS... thanks a lot suckers.

Epic probably reused a lot of assets that were on the disc already (for example textures). That's probably the reason that the download size is so small.

They won't be chosen, simple as that. It's just like the Flashback mappack, if just one party member doesn't have them they won't be chosen. So in the end paying for these maps is like exclusively using them for non-ranked matches as they won't come up very often... or at all. It's like in Halo 3: I played maybe 3 matches in a single month on the new maps on playlists they weren't required. That's money thrown out of the window.

@DC: Noone ever complained about lag in Horde, that's just half the players on it and usually you don't play it public (so you choose a reliable host). Yesterday it was unbearable. Played 3 matches, lost them all and barely killed someone, the lag was just way too bad, really pissing me off...
