I doubt Elder Scrolls V will be debuted this early, but it would be pretty sweet.

That's a pretty nice list thus far though.

It'd be absolutely mental if they showed Elder Scrolls V but, like Grift said, I very much doubt it'll be shown.

But Oblivion was released March 2006! an announcement at this year's E3 with the game shipping in say March 2009 is very likely if you ask me. 3 years of development is plenty of time.

It's not that crazy to think that they would announce it with maybe one screen this year (ESV I'm talking about). I mean, they did announce Oblivion 2 years after the release of Morrowind. And I'd say a release date of 2010 is more likely, considering Fallout 3, and then you can probably push back the real release to 2011. That's being optimistic and saying they announce this year though. I sure do hope they make some major changes from Oblivion, the leveling system was screwed up.

It's strange, i'm just not as excited this year.... last year I was frothing at the mouth for COD4, checking every damn web page in the history of the internet looking for updates... this year all i'm excited about is Left 4 Dead

Capcom are all aboard that Unreal train. Having licensed the Unreal Engine 3.0 in February for use on a title being developed in North America (Dead Rising 2?), they've today licensed the engine for use in a second project, this one being worked on in Europe. No idea what that one could be (maybe a new IP!), but that's not the point! The point is a lot of Japanese developers talk about trying harder in the Western market. It's nice being reminded there's at least one doing something about it.

OSAKA, JAPAN (June 25, 2008) — Capcom Co., LTD., a leading developer and publisher of video games, with corporate headquarters located in Osaka, Japan, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to license Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games, Inc. This is the second agreement between Capcom and Epic Games on licensing Unreal Engine 3.

"Unreal Engine 3 is a perfect fit for this project being developed in Europe, and is capable of ensuring a high-quality game experience. Not only does the development team have thorough knowledge of Unreal Engine 3, the general versatility of Unreal Engine 3 will fully meet the requirements particular to this project", said Keiji Inafune, Managing Corporate Officer, R&D Management Group of Capcom. "Unreal Engine 3 comes with a wide variety of functions required for next-generation game development, and it provides ease of use. On top of that, one of the major advantages is the well-established support system. We are delighted to enter into this license agreement, and have strong backup by Epic Games. With Unreal Engine 3, we can expect high development efficiency as well as high creativity within the development team."

"We’re very excited that Capcom has, once again, chosen to use Unreal Engine 3 for one of their upcoming games,” said Mark Rein, vice president, Epic Games. "Capcom is a legendary company in our industry and it is an honor to be able to work with them."

They dont just use it for the hell of it, there must be very good reasons as to why they have decided to go with UE3 for this new title, both Business and development wise, as Korndog said they do have there own engine i think?, but for this title they have decided that UE3 is a perfect fit.

Capcom have always tried hard when it comes to appealing to westerners, I really grow tired that ever western person wants Japanese dev's to makes western style games, its like people don't want diversity anymore and want the same crap from every developer.

As for UE3 goes I don't really care as far as Capcom go, the only game I'm interested in is RE5 and not greatly, I do hope that one of those projects could be Powerstone3 but we all know thats never guna happen.

I hope we get to see some new announcements at this years E3, much of whats on that list doesn't have me very excite, surprising seeing how much is on it.

Well even so it seems strange to me, as far as im concerned their engine is leaps and bounds ahead of UE3, I can't see how UE3 could possibly be any better than an engine they know inside out, but meh.

We all know that many Dev/Publishers have many teams working on different projects at the same time, it is very likely that the team working on this new project are very adept at working with ue3 and can get faster results with it.

Yeah! so what ? So far, every game that used it had various issues, bad framerate (mass effect, lost odyssey), textures pop ups (gears of war, mass effect & lost odyssey), jerky animations ... not to mention that every game that uses it ends up looking exacly like the other with a shades of grey color pallette ... I dont think I need to add more.

Yeah, funny how you picked the only weak argument to defend the engine ;)

You can love the engine all you want mate. I have seen its problems with my own eyes and they're not confined to one game, hence my opinion.

Every problem you have mentioned has also been noticed in every other nextgen engine that has games out there, i understand you dont like UE3 and thats all good, but lets not act like its the only next-gen engine that has these issues as they all do, i myself would be more inclined to blame the dev and publisher (IE: for rushing the dev of the game) for a games with technical shortfalls, than solely blaming the engine.

wow i thought PSN had most of this stuff already?
According to CVG, the much-hyped PS3 firmware update to 2.40 - the one that'll bring trophies and in-game XMB access - won't be launching "soon". Instead, Sony will be holding it back, and launching it around the time of the company's E3 address in three weeks time. They also claim to have gotten hold of the final list of features contained within the update. It's a literal list of updates - meaning the exact function of some of them is unclear - but hey, use your imagination.

So, the in-game XMB will supposedly let you access the following commands:

* Friend category
* View, send, receive messages
* Manage downloads
* Set the vibration feature of the controller
* Sign in to PlayStation Network
* Register friends
* Manage Bluetooth devices
* Terminate the game
* Music category
* Use the system BGM
* Work the system BGM operation panel
* Settings category
* Assign controllers
* View profiles
* Game category
* Set audio devices
* Use the voice changer

i dunno, capcoms self developed engine is pretty flawless tbh. no issues stick out in my mind. UE3 tho EVERY game has something wrong with it. whether it be framerate or texture pop-in. now, i agree developers could be the most at fault (especially with games such as turning point : fall of liberty). but when EVERY game has issues, surely some blame has to be cast on the UE3 engine itself. hell, even the EPIC titles have ploblems (gears/UT3) bioshock i think has been the most stable title thus far. but then that still had texture pop-in every now and then as well. something clearly isnt quite right with the engine performance wise.

Which next-gen near flawless capcom games are you talking about? nearly every next-gen game out there has some type of issue in the game, no game is flawless, as for GOW issues they were very rear and did in no way affect gameplay or diminish the game in anyway hence the technical high scores.
