It's perfect when I am playing UK people but it sucks big time in other places. Virtua Fighter, I played at a friend and he had the same problem (I dont own VF5)

That is only a small sample of what can you do with the editor. Also for people who do not own the game yet (damn the japanes version is taking too long to get the released :( ), it appears that there is no jedi or sith option class in the editor, so no custom jedis or siths can be made wich sucks IMO, like all that fucking stuff. Expect stupid media content downloads through the marketplace at ridicously high prices.
What I hate from Namco fighting games in general, is the cast of characters. While the fighter rooster may look quite impressive due to the high number of fighters, in fact only half of them are unique and have their own fighting style while others are just skins. This SC IV is no exception :(

That's a good thing, in my opinion. I'm glad 50% of the roster is nonsense. I can't stand all of those silly guest characters, and they're not even on the selection screen from what I understand. That's a good thing.

They are on the selection screen but they share a button.

You have a guest star button, you select it then select the character you want.

It's a bit like selecting a character and then picking the custome.

Yes that is the point, and It is something that I can't stand with when the fanboys cry all along saying is the fighting game with the higher number of characters. That is why I love VF series and Sega fighting series in general. A small amount of characters but every one of them is different from the other.
I wish Sega bring back older series like Fighting Vipers or a new Last Bronx. That would be awesome.
By the way I have already seen some cool skin fighters for SC4, like: Dante from Devil May Cry, Gantz or even Conan lol

Who says more is better though? After a certain point, the size of a roster can become unmanageably large, making character balance a ridiculous task. Just how many tiers are there in MVC2 for example?

I just picked my copy up. I won't have a chance to play it until later. I'm a little confused, why is there a huge block of French text on the back of my box? Oh well, it's hardly as offensive as Yoda being on the front!

I played 14 hours straight yesterday. Needless to say I f-ing LOVE this game. LOVE.

But I do have a couple gripes:

1. No option to see replays at the end of every fight; you can only see them at the end of the final round. Considering how gorgeous the graphics are I think this is a real shame. Nobody minded having to skip them.

2. You CANNOT have two player accounts signed into the same machine and fight each other's custom characters against each other - player 2 can only choose from player 1's custom characters in VS mode. STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!!!!!! This is an inexcusable oversight.

Other than these two issues (#2 being hard to forgive), I just LOVE this game. Even the online play seems to have zero lag and only a fraction of a second of latency.

I give this game an A; I'd give it an A+ if not for the above issues.

They are ok, but nowhere near as good as the bullshots IMO, models are nice enough, backgrounds are craptastic.

I really don't like this game much TBH, I think I will stick to VF5, DOA4, or Tekken :P

Yeah you only see the last 5 or so seconds of the final round, so if you are playing best of 5 (default for 2p versus) you might only see a replay one out of every 5 fights.

And to clarify, you CAN fight custom characters together, but ONLY ONLINE. At least this is true for the 360 version; I can't verify if it is true for the PS3 one.

Damn, no game is perfect you know. So how is the gameplay??? Is it broken? I have read a lot on other sites and they say it is a mixed bag.

I know no game is perfect but geez, it kills me when a game that is SO perfect lets something so simple slip by like that. Doesn't anyone else have friends that don't live in the internet?

As for the gameplay it is GREAT. I had been playing a lot of SCII the past few weeks in preparation for SCIV and I never want to go back again. And don't let anyone tell you that the one-hit-kill finishers break the gameplay because it is VERY rare that anyone can actually pull one off. I have played 14-16 hours and have only been able to do it 3 or 4 times.

And MY GOD the character customization options are insane. I've already made both a Cloud and a Zack and they look pretty flippin close to the real deal. And the best part is, it shows your character's custom name when you fight online.

I'm really enjoying it so far. I hate the customization in Soul Calibur, and I hate Yoda, but we've been over all of that already. Strip away all the bullshit, and it's still Soul Calibur. One thing I'm not sure if I appreciate is how Guard Impacts can result in a knockdown now.. I'm not sure if it's a good thing, or a bad thing yet.. I just haven't really adjusted to it.

The other new mechanics all seem pretty fair, although the armor/clothing health is a little wacky. I wouldn't worry too much about custom characters online. For the most part, they're just glorified palette swaps, with slightly different move sets than the characters they're based on. There's a "normal" arcade mode which does not allow any of the special (game breaking) modifiers.. so it's pretty kosher stuff.

And yes, critical finishers are no big deal.

@Jollipop: It's a matter of taste, when it comes right down to it. I love VF, but I've always liked Soul Calibur more than Tekken. This is no exception. I'm a little concerned about how this will hold up in the long run.. but so far.. so good.

I just watched the gametrailers video review and I have to say it looks great. I think I will order it soon.

Hmm what do you guys think it is better than SC3? I don't know what it was on that game but I really didn't like it too much :/
