Editors from GameEx were interviewing developers from Namco and this interesting statement about Tekken 6 has been made:

"... at the moment we don't want to limit ourselves to a single console, but we can't declare Tekken 6 as a PS3 exclusive."

PS3 needs exclusives, if Sony is smart enough, they should keep it that way for this title. 360 got DOA4, so...yeah.

I wouldn't see how any exclusive being lost should bother anyone personally, but it shouldn't come as a surprise now. I'm wondering how They kept MGS4 seeing as how they claim they don't pay for exclusives. But I had completely forgotten about Tekken 6. Not on my radar at all.

Although I agree that for a long while it did, Tekken 5 is really quite good again. It's certainly the only fighter Namco still consider halfway hardcore, so T6 might well continue further down that route while Soul Calibur goes absolutely bananas and titties.

Tekken 6 multiplatform a "megaton" though? In terms of fighting games, the only news I'd consider a megaton is that they're relevant again.

Wait, werent those cancelled ?

Sony obvisouly doesnt care about 3rd party exclusives because, against the Xbox 360, they only need to worry about the US: the 360 simply doesnt stand a chance in Japan which is a pity and the PS3 is definately selling better in europe and I dont understand why - blind brand loyalty. They are screwing europe with the PS3 price, yet, europeans are buying it.

Neither MS or Sony seem to care about how the Wii is doing. They simply dont seem to be trying to compete with it.

...apart from redesigning their entire interface, altering their philosophy and developing new types of games, I guess they pretty much don't care yeah. :P

SIMON!!!!!!! :p

I am talking about 3rd party exclusives here when it comes to PS3 vs 360. the Wii competition (which I guess is what you're referring to), May be, yeah .... they are trying to crack into the casual market but I simply dont see it happening.

You only need to look at the game libraries to see they are not competing.
Its like saying civic is in the same market as lexus and infinity, just because theyre cars. Well theyre not in the same market.

While I sort of agree, it's clear Sony and MS in fact don't. I dunno about competing I guess, but they're seeing what the Wii's doing turning non gamers into happy punters, and they want in. This you can't really deny.

Although like Alimo I don't see it working. The PS3 and 360 are high end, bajillion buttoned, scary monsters that won't be inviting just because you dress them in a funny hat.

What people doesn't understand, is that now a days third parties exclusives doesn't exist anymore, wich is great IMO, they are only timed exclusives so every gamer is going to enjoy the game.
As for exclusive games, they are first party games, that is where Sony,MS and Nintendo must strife for getting the best games in order that a future consumer decides wich system is worth his money.
And if finally Tekken 6 hits the 360 then great another fighting game for every lover of the fighting genre
