tbh, even RESI2 was more action game then survival horror. but as you said, it at least had quieter moments to take in the atmosphere and story, and had puzzles to break up the monotony of combat, exploration, items to find and limited ammo. it's THAT which i miss most. i wouldnt mind the locked, clunky shoulder camera and controls if it still had those things, but it doesnt. the puzzles are easy, keys are often found in the same room as the door that needs opening, no exploration, no atmosphere, no sense of fear and more ammo then you actually need. it's turned into a stright up action series with controls that can't keep up.
it's a shame the series has moved in this direction. action shooters are a dime a dozen, and i find it hard to get excited by yet ANOTHER one.

Its because 4 was so good en changed RE in, what I deem to be a right direction.
Though we must not ignore the facts here. Capcom wants to make money. Catering the fans wont cut it.
So Im 100% sure that they want to give us fans the old skool Resi game, but they know they cant.
That would mean they wouldnt make enough money out of it, to justify the resource that went into it.
Dont forget that Revelations coming out next week, will be that fan-service Resi game everyones been waiting for.
If that sells well...I am certain they will continue that trend. If not? then you get my point ;)
Resi 5 was to me, the worst one in the series, but it had the best sells of them all.
Im happy I can play all of them and love em for what they are instead of what they're not.

The whole bro-dude stuff is because people watch a three min. trailer containing Chris and co.
The devs said that its a game focused on horror and some bits of action. As in more horror than action.
It wont be over the top action from beginning to end as with RE5.
Personally I dont mind the action. I love BOTH the horror and the action parts in Resi games.
Its how its presented and done which makes the difference.
Again funny how so called fans (no one here in particular) are raging on about the 'change'. Yet they are not buying Revelations.
Suits them right. I hope Capcom continues this trend of catering the market instead of listening to whining fans, who are least but supportive when it comes to buying a resi game that DOES suit their desire.
