360 is only console that is showcasing improvements over the previous June and I think the only console since the start of this year beating sales during the same period last year.

That has to make Microsoft happy.
They're still behind Nintendo, so there's really nothing to be extremely satisfied with. At least they're losing with 1.5:1 ration not 3:1 like last year.
Nintendo must be very dissatisfied with those results though. They stated in their financial guidance that they would ship the same amount of Wiis in Fy2009 as they had in FY2008, but after the first quarter it's somewhat improbable that they'll achieve it, which mean that their actions will be cheaper.

SONY PS3 console lifetime sales up to June 30th 2009

Good news, apparently SONY is now estimating the number of consoles sold to consumers instead of just shipped. They have released lifetime PS3 sales since launch to June 30th 09:

PS3 consoles: 23.8 million
PS3 software: 189.7 million (all publishers, includes both retail and PSN titles)

It is a bloody good game. Personally I'm surprised Uncharted 2 didn't perform much better, the disparity between that and equivalent 360 exclusives is strange.

Forza 3 sales are pretty weak, even if you take the fact it was only tracked for 5 days into account. Perhaps it will have legs... or wheels?

It works really well as a shooter also, the only negatives against it are a poor interface on the PC and under using the vehicles.

Halo 3 did 3.3 million copies in its first month of release in US alone as well. When was call of Duty 4 released in the usa exactly ? What date ? I think COD 4 has lesser number of days in the month yet it managed to sell more 4.2 million against 3.3 if we're talkin 360 only.

If anyone is interested here are the console sales for NPD November 2008:

just found this, cod4 did less than halo 3

Fact: In 2007, Call of Duty IV: Modern Warfare sold 2.14 million on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in its first November (launched on the 6th) in the U.S.. The sequel, Modern Warfare 2 did 6.07 million on those same two consoles in its first November (launched on the 10th).
