Been playing it for a couple of hours now. I'll give it some more time, but I'm currently not liking it much at all. This just seems to be more a function of my distaste for this kind of combat than any kind of lack of quality though; I just feel so disconnected by it.

I was the same way as I'm an impatient sod when it comes to combat. Once I slowed down and started using the environment to my advantage I fell in love with it.

Dragon Age feels old, sort of like the RPGs I played at the start of this decade so I have a soft spot for it even though the combat system is a real throw back to the old school RPGs. It can be frustrating starting out with the warrior class because it doesn't really feel right until you've leveled up a little. I would suggest a start with the mage class because it's the easiest to get into and to me at least the most rewarding class to play.

I tried playing the rouge class for a few hours and I know I'll never touch that class again.

ok i think this game is going to oust Batman AA as my '09 GOTY, I just cant stop playing it and the thing is i'm finding the side quest as interesting as the main story the game as a whole is so big, and the combat for me is a win as i love the old skool rpg combat flow and tactics, The Last Remnant is the only other game in which i have enjoyed the combat more, this wkend i have to take a break as mates are coming over for some MW2 madness.

Yeah it is. I gave it a try and worked great. Nice little mod. Can't wait until bigger stuff start to arrive.

So i continue my adventure on Ferelden. Nearly 40 hours played, game is awesome. it was so worth the wait. Bioware i want more of this!

I think the community will supply more if Bioware don't. I'm gonna dig into the tools once I'm finished, I've got a few little ideas for funny side quests.

Been playing for about 20 hours, loving it, great game. Bioware experience with the DnD system shows as their own system is an evolution of it. I find its more balanced even though theres ALOT of room for customization. Fights are less complex spell wise, as theres few buffs and debuffs compared to DnD, but bioware added a terrain factor as its very important where you place your party and ground advantage.
More impressions later (stuff like quests, dungeons, characters and dialogue are all top notched)

I'm really not a person to take much time over thinking about which spells/talents to take in games. If I play on easy will I be able to get through without much stress? I just want to enjoy the world and story without getting pissed off with difficulty.

Yeah I should think so. As long as you use common sense when picking your party (ie. use a tank!) and using the elemental aspects (fire melts ice etc.)

So i finished the 1st go around...

I will say that the game itself is better than the main story, which quite frankly wants to make a statement that what you do makes no difference or is milking for expansions. (im inclined towards the later, as this games ending had no closure what so ever)

Its still the best western style rpg since baldurs gate 2.

Just finished it was just great. Took me nearly 60 hours, freaking loved it!!

It was a cool ending giving a nice closure, but still opening paths to the future. The world is huge, can't wait to see what Bioware does next.

Now will try the rest of the origins (played a Mage) to see what origin i will play the game.

1 question

Console related (360 or PS3 dont care)

I heard they took the CoOp out the game, pretty gay

I heard they was going to patch it in at later date, pretty cool

Now i hear that there "not going to bother" because "to hard to implement" and also heard "taking it out of pc version" because its faulty and broke

Any of this true? am i going to get CoOp or have they scrapped it?

Ok 2 questions ..

I don't think there was ever any co-op mode planned for Dragon Age.

Was going to leave it for CoOp to play with the misses, but if its not comming... i got borderlands to keep me company for a while :)

No Co-op. Single player only game.

Started my second playthrough. Playing a city elf rogue, quite fun.

Hey, they probably took co-op out cos that would make this game better, co-op wouldnt be broken nor hard to implement, the members you add to your party are neither inferior nor superior to your character if you would pick the exact same stats and skills...

Also as i mentioned a while ago, BG2 had co-op and that game is 10 years old, and its co-op was just awesome, worked really well, not to mention because everyone only controlled 1 char we didnt pause, so the game had a really intense pace.

I tried 3 more oppenings, dalish, magi and human noble, i have to say the braveheart inspired city elf is still my favorite, i cant decide on a 2nd playthrough tho, im torn between 2 handed warrior or arcane warrior. Or i might play rogue again to try to perfect stats-strategies (not to mention i messed up alistairs build on my 1st run, he was neither dps nor tank, so didnt do much damage and died plenty...)

Just finished getting a dwarves army, although i was very tempted to get a golem one instead, the last section in that quest freaked me out i had the tv surround sound on loud and it was past midnight and all of a sudden that freaky women started spewy out lines about the broodmother? Shit me right up!, well i'm onto the Mage Circle tower next i think, then the Elves last, i really hope i have a long long way to go.
