This game is getting really good buzz. I need to pre-order, comes out in a couple of weeks here in the U.S.

No good mention of how good the map editor is, from the 2 reviews I've read. The one in Far Cry 2 was awesome. Spent more time on the map editor in FC2, than I did the game.

With all the buzz this game is getting, I'm shocked that there isn't more activity here.

I was pretty set on holding out for a lower price.. maybe I'll just grab it after Xmas. It sounds like this will appear on a few GOTY lists.

It really looks better in every conceivable way than FC2.

I am a bit disappointed because although I bought a i3770K y'day the game doesn't run that perfect, I guess my 560GTX-TI TwinFrozr II isn't up to the job. Considering buying a Palit GeForce GTX 670 JetStream, maybe then I'll finally be able to play maxed out games that didn't run smooth enough until now on my rig (Crysis 2, Metro 2033, Rage with High-Res Texture Pack) ...

but I really like what I've seen so far, will wait until the new card is here.

What do you guys think, is it a good choice?

I think you should just turn down a few settings. Far Cry 2 worked pretty well on my Core 2 Duo and a HD4870. Why do you need max settings? Some things (AO for example) are extraordinarily costly.

Tweak. Don't spend. I'd keep that 560TI until the 7xx series is out if I were you. Upgrading every cycle is wasteful.

I know what you mean. But I only re-entered into the PC gaming-realm a few months ago (was curious about this "diablo"), and I plan to have the card longer than this one. I just want to be able to play games on ultra for a while, I earned it :D

But I will try to tweak it, any tipps on tweaking Crysis2 and Metro 2033 (this is the worst running of all)?

Metro is horribly optimized. Just play with some of the settings. There are some pretty specific threads about this games performance on NeoGAF. Maybe that would help you out.

Ambient occlusion is pretty costly. That's something I often play with. I think driftwood (i think) even had some comments about this stuff in the news page thread.

Really likeing it so far, the only thing I REALLY hate about it is the constant handholding; waypoints, treasure indicators, cache indicators, vehicle indicators, indicators for fucking everything...
Seems like there is no reason to explore because everything is on the FUCKING MAP...

other than that, loving it, carry on....

I like it. I was very skeptical. An indication that predetermination does not matter much if your product is actually good.

After tweaking the graphics a bit (removing FXAA/DOF, using nvidia's AA instead of the in-game setting, etc) the game looks and runs fucking phenomenally too.

This game has pretty shitty mouse smoothing/negative acceleration that you can not disable. I do not understand why people can not get raw mouse input right.
