I liked forza2, looking forward to forza3.
So graphics weren't good, and only 12 tracks... graphics arent all that important and i actually LIKE them, clean and simple, as for tracks, those 12 come in alot of different setups, so does feel like more.

I just love the conformist attitude. That is surely what we need, besides being your opinion of course.

Now, adding tracks would be making it a decent number rather than a crappy 12.
Well unless the game is much worse than Forza 2, it wont be challenged by any racer as Forza 2 currently holds the title and I cant see any racer in the horizon that even comes close to what Forza 2 has to offer.

Agreed! First i was very disappointed about the lack of the promissed features like 3D grass, reduced car number etc. But at the end of the day Forza 2 is still the best racer on consoles with the best trade-off regarding to features/graphics. Sure, PGR4 has better environments, but Forza 2' environments aren't that bad. There are some ugly tracks like Test track or NY. But there are also tracks that looks much better like Tsucuba, Road Atlanta/America or Motegi. And don't forget, it runs at 60fps -> meand double rendering power than 30fps games. I think the awesome lighting is still the best of all current racing games.

Rumor has it that Forza 3 will be on 3 discs.
Well thats pretty sad for a racer, they need to have an instalation disc if that is the case.

I dont know anyone who would be happy with swapping discs in a racing game.

The overbloom in FM2 is pretty bad as it washes out the image and has significant aliasing. The lighting is so poor that cars exhibit significant artifacting (e.g. white dots on random parts of the car) and the lighting balance in the game offers poor contrast and makes the cars look very plastic.

You have a right to your opinion, but other racers have technically superior lighting engines and most people would say they artistic side of the lighting in many of the other games is far better. GT5 has far better balance (nearly photorealistic in some situations; FM2 cannot even begin to claim that) and games like PGR and GRiD while having a different art direction (and both 30fps) kill FM2 in the nuts in the lighting department as far as I am concerned.

Basically with FM2, graphically, what you get is tradeoffs. Want 60fps? Turn off AF (!) Want 60fps? Variable rate MSAA (!) Want 60fps? No grass (!) Want 60fps? Reduced color threshold for the bloom (!) And so forth. It isn't like they traded UP in terms of fidelity in comparison to the competition, so I wouldn't call it tradeoffs but concessions. Alas it isn't the only 60fps racer on the market.

The sad part is that replays couldn't keep up to 30fps.......

I was a bit disappointed with FM2, the physics etc were great but overall it looked relatively poor when compared to other racers.
GT is probably the one it will be compared to and it isn't favourable at all, some of the things done in GT just work really well, the car models seem so much more solid and the lighting works much better, it's just a lot more subtle and realistic.
Also the in car view was sorely missed from Forza and was frankly an unforgivable decision to ignore as it adds much more to a racer.

The learning curve / progression in it was also really catered to the hardcore racer and the severe penalties for using the AI to race for you was very annoying, thats probably the most annoying thing in the game for me tbh. I've got practically nowhere in the game cause i don't have the time or patience to do 20 laps of one course for a few credits. The likes of GT and PGR were much more forgiving to casual racers, you could actually collect a decent number of cars in no time which kept me much more interrested than having to do 10 races to earn a hatchback or something.

GT5P has the worsest lighting of all racing games. You just don't understand that it looks so good because of the high detailed car models, certainly not because of the lighting. I don't know why everybody tells bullshit about the lighting of GT5P. There is such a totally bad contrast/shadow ratio, everything looks totally bright. Everything looks like in the middle of summer. And we better don't start to talk about environment reflections.

Regarding your so called overbloom, maybe you don't like it, but then you should hate nature. I suggest you to go more out of your flat. I've always have to lough if people demand one special way how a scene should look. Lighting depends on so much parameters. Many times i've never seen blooming in real life, but vice versa there are as many times where i've seen exactly that blooming effects and the sun heavily blinds. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it less real.

And regarding AF, many racers like PGR4 or those Codemaster crap doesn't use detailed textures on the ground. People just complain about Forza' AF, because there are some highres textures on the ground like the gravel pit or the stones with grass bunches on nissan speedway or silverstone. You don't see these ground texture in GRID, PGR4 or GT5P. Nobody would complain about Forza' AF, because the buildings or whatever doesn't look right. AF isn't really a problem of Forza 2, there is just some high detailed content where it more attracts attention then in other racers.

... and then you have GT5p tradeoffs... Want 60fps? Filled the backgrounds with 2D cut out outs (!) Want 60fps? Turn off A.I (!) Want 60fps? Remove damage modelling (!) Want 60fps? Rip the physics from GT2 and insert here (!) Want 60fps? Turn off AA (!) and so forth, I wont even start on the poor reflections.

Bloom is not something natural, because your eyes are not designed to show light in that way, if we go from a very dark place to a very light place you would squint and not see much at all.

There would be a small ammount of bloom effect where too much light would enter the pupil but it is nothing like on the same level we see in computer games.

The only way we would see a lot of this effect is if you looked towards the sun.

GT5 has bloom but it fairly minimal, normally when you come out of a tunnel or such.

Bloom effects are also mostly reflections on some environment stuff! You don't need to look into the sun to see bloom effects. And sure, your eyes ARE designed to see bloom effects.
