Inscrit depuis 6981 JoursNot me not you not KORN or anyone can say one game has the better combat engine then and I gladly leave the subject, but if someone says that this game or that game its better than Bayonetta well we can have this argument forever honestly.
Just because you like or find more satisfying the NG combat than Bayonetta's combat doesn't mean its better we agree on that right?
Inscrit depuis 6284 JoursI completly disagree with that statement good sir and I could make a list side by side of why Bayonetta's combat its deeper far deeper than NG's one.
;)
We could do this forever, but you guys have your opinion and I have mine so we should call it a tied in this or something cause I dont have the full game yet.

Inscrit depuis 7443 JoursI am surprised why you arent comparing it to DMC when its the same guy who made DMC1.
Compare DMC3 to Bayonetta and lets see how far you can go, not much because the style of combat is the same. Crazy combos, alot of freeform and style, simple really.
The reason why I say NG is better in combat is because the combat has strict moves, the attacks, hit detection, animations...etc. is just too perfect...IMO.
But one combat being better than the other is hard to do when each title is trying different things.
For example, Wolverine can be compared to GOW, even Dantes Inferno.
DMC and Bayonetta
NG just seems to be in a league of its own to be honest because I cant think of any title that has as much defense as it has offense, but defense I dont mean only dodging, I mean counter attack, only one that is closest is Batman and Wolverine which are 2 games that also focuses on counter attacks alot, especially Batman.
Its hard really, nothing is certain. Each person has their own way, even I like how Bayonetta is like, it is crazy over the top, like DMC and I like that, ALOT, but I also like the medium paced and more thoughtful arppoach which NG delivers, and more simple ones like Batman, GOW, Heavenly Sword.
I would say Heavenly Sword is closer to GOW and NG in terms of how movelists are made, I am unsure of Bayonetta so I wont say anything.
We have our opinion my good friend, but when you say Bayonetta has the deepest combat system in existense you said that like its a fact and not a opinion, so you have to understand why we keep pulling you in :P
But yeah, this can be dragged on for a long time, what matters is, more games like this is needed for those who like it, and as long as the combat is good enough we should be happy.
I mean right now I havent thought of NG nor have the urge to think about playing it, period, so its kind of like a free thing for me.
Who knows, maybe some other IP will swoop me away from NG as a secondary (NG love will never go, but taking breaks is good) awesome game in the same genre, and so far Castlevania Lords of Shadows seems to be the one with highest potential for me. Good art direction, music, voice casting, production value, it could be as "grand" as GOW in the genre, hopefully.
I really wish they would evolve passed QTE's now though...the techs here to allow all that stuff to be totally interactive, theres no reason why dramatic scenes should have to suffer with the removal of them... look at the new splinters cell, sure its only a step away from QTE's but theres certainly more control given to the player whilst still keeping the dramatic camera shots.
Wasent complicated or anything like that, easy to get the hang of it and yes, looked awesome and you were in control each moment.
But GOW has one famous aspect and thats awesome finishers which is QTEs, and I think Santa Monica sees it as a tradition to have it in one way or the other.
Me personally, HATE QTEs.
Inscrit depuis 6284 JoursIts just Bayonetta hit me very hard with his awesome gameplay and theme I just love everything about it,before bayonetta it was all about NG2 this generation in terms of action games go but this came out and stroked me in a way no game since Black and DMC did so Im so happy ;P
I hope we see some more gameplay and some more enviroments of GoW3 soon,I haev to admit I love the scale this games have.

Inscrit depuis 7443 JoursBut yeah, good thing you can enjoy it despite the style Bayonetta is going for, unfortenetly I cant or else I would be there praising it as well.
Ah well, I got Dantes Inferno and Castlevania to look forward to :)
But anyways, back to GOW3, I am hoping for some new stuff in motion soon, dont want to see the same level again, but we will see.

Inscrit depuis 6092 JoursAmazing. The real-time blood effects, the amazing light effects, the detailed animations, the best character models ever, the unmatched gore, and of course the pure fun are way more intense once you play it yourself. The gameplay defines the term "Hack 'n Slash", even if it's "not deep enough" for some. The quick time events are, once again, second to none. I can't think of any other game that utilizes the concept of QTEs so well. I could continue forever praising the positive aspects of this game, it's just so good in so many areas.
Even though it doesn't offer many new things, I can safely say that this is the BEST God of War game. And that's saying a lot, since GoW I & II are considered the best out of all PS2 games and GoW: CoO is considered the best PSP game. People who didn't enjoy the series so far won't enjoy this one either and that's no surprise; but if you loved the previous games, you'll have a blast playing through this one.
My only complaints with this demo are the following two: Inconsistent framerate; even if it doesn't drop under 30 fps (as far as I can tell) it constantly changes within the 30fps and 60fps mark. But it's safe to assume that the final version will have a more stable framerate towards the 60fps mark with fewer drops. Also, the demo has one or two minor graphical bugs, and the animation when you grab Helios is a bit choppy (you can see that in the video as well) but these are just minor complaints which will disappear in the polishing process.
This game will live up to its predecessors and therefore be another killer app for the PS3. The wait will be even harder now for me.
I'd like to put an intellectually rich and entertaining line of text in here but I'm too stupid for stuff like that.
