Inscrit depuis 7442 JoursI have never watched a Indiana Jones movie except some scenes long time ago and kept hearing the famous musical score theme for it by John Williams.
As a huge archeology, ruins, temples, mythology fan I saw a commercial on TV that they were gonna show all 3 Indiana Jones movies, starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark on friday.
So friday came and I made sure nothing would stop me from watching it, and I watched it...and I loved it. Harrison Ford was just awesome as Indy in that movie.
Seeing him as Han Solo and then Indy makes me a Harrison Ford fan already :P, but only to those characters.
So, this upcoming friday they are gonna show Temple of Doom, so I am gonna watch that one as well, and the friday after that, the last one, The Last Crusade.
So I basically can watch Kingdom of the Crystal Skull right after the other two titles which can give me a fresh head to go and watch it in theaters.
So anyone except me that is excited to watch the 4th title?
I am a bit skeptical about this Shia guy, I hope he doesn't ruin it.
He was decent in Transformers, but in a Indiana Jones movie, I hope he doesnt ruin it.
But I am also glad that Indy's love interest Marion (Karen Allen) is still in here though, very good.
I can't stop thinking of the early Star Wars music in the Indiana Jones scores. I know its John Williams but I hoped he could make it as much less as a Star Wars feeling as possible, but hey I don't want to complain, Star Wars music is great so is the Indiana Jones scores.

Thanks to an early screening offered for the media, including our notorious website, I am able to give you a complete review of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, probably one of this summer's most awaited movie. It's been (almost) 20 years since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), which was pretty bad by the way, and now the old fart that is Steven Spielberg is back at it with another boring entry in the series. The movie aknowledges this too story-wise, so you won't find yourself back in the 50s. Ok, what is really disturbing with this movie, is how the intro sequence looks like something shaped out of War of the World and Three Kings, with the creation the crystal skulls (spoiler : these are, in fact, the skulls of an alien civilisation that used to control the Earth before Xenu came in and cleared them of his way, claiming the planet and creating humans). Indy, acted by Harrison Ford, who is now retired, gets a call from a russian spy who heard rumors about one of the crystal skulls being held in a Mayan temple. Predictable enough, Indy accepts to investigate and finds himself in unknown territory with his sidekick, who is the most annoying movie character I've seen in recent history.
For those wondering, yes, I'm talking about Shia Lebouf and he really does ruin this movie. I mean, he was bad enough in Transformers, now he really seems out of the place (if that's even possible). He plays some kind of motorcycle-riding greaser who is as convincing as my sister (my sister is dead). I'll give this production some credits for its special effects, they are really well done, but unfortunately the plot isn't that special. Considering Indy 4 is 123 minutes long (that's more than 2 hours), they could have created something both original and
full of twists. But no, what we get is the same old stuff, with current-gen technology. This movie will only please die-hard fans of the series who
really believe the crystal skulls do exist. Oh and let me add that these crystal skulls are the equivalent of the Holy Grail.
My last but not least gripe with Indy 4 is from a patriotism angle. You know, just because the nazis killed so many jews in the past des not make them automatically evil. Every country have horror stories to share, and those of the nazis are simply more known because they were part of the axis. In this movie,
there are swastikas and nazi soldiers roaming around, and of course the scenario places them as the vilains. When will the industry grow up? Funny enough, there are soviets too, and in my opinion they were worse than the german's army but hey, it's okay, they were allied with the United States. Another movie to fuel the hate between countries. That's mad.
2/5
