Wow, Gemini Rue looks nice! It's not easy hitting that early 90s point and click adventure look in a way that makes it as compelling visually, but that there's totally in line with Gabriel Knight or Beneath a Steel Sky.

I can't tell if it's nostalgia induced, but I really, really love the narration in classic p/c adventure games. Non voiced boxes or blurbs of text creates a really compelling book/comic blend where you have a lot of interpretation in how lines are delivered, the tone of character's voices, et cetera, and the pacing is entirely up to your own ability to soak up the information on screen, never lingering on a scene beyond its delivery.

In a way, the low fidelity of presentation played up the importance of reading and following the narrative even more. Rarely did games highlight an important plot point with music cue or a particular camera movement, and as such, things of great significance could kinda sneak into the dialogue and send you reeling as it dawned on you what it meant.

There are examples in plenty of genres of this of course. Tomb Raider's casual introduction of shit-your-pants-worthy foes was ham fistedly stripped of all intensity by elaborate cutscene setups in its own remake. Likewise, voicing the Monkey Island HD stuff now reduces all characters to one specific incarnation.

Nostalgia or not, it's definitely to do with the fact that I did experience Beneath a Steel Sky and Innocent Until Caught back when they came out. "Adventure Game Studio" is a bit of a godsend.

It's been on sale a couple of times on steam. It does look very unique!

You rotate the world in order to solve little puzzles and progress through the platforming levels.
It's pretty fun actually, and easy to control.

Shouldn't there be a demo to try out somewhere? I don't know, I just bought it one day for 10 bucks; t'was worth it.

Proun just got released;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh2uBxie3Kc
[b[What is Proun?
Proun is a strange racing game in a world of geometric objects and large coloured surfaces. You avoid obstacles by rotating around a cable in order to gain as much speed as possible. There is no up or down; there is only the cable to which you are attached.

What does Pay what you want mean?
It means that you can set your own price for Proun! If you like Proun, then you can pay what you think it is worth. If you don't want to pay for the game, then you can just download it for free. You can also first download the game for free to try it, and then pay for it after you have decided what you think it is worth.

[bWhy is Proun released as Pay what you want?
Because it is a very fair way to pay for something, and because I want as many people as possible to enjoy Proun. At the same time, I hope people who like Proun will support me in making more games! Some of my next projects are really weird, so some support to get those started would be awesome! For further explanation, please read this blogpost.

What features does Proun have?
-4 unlockable speeds, from relaxed to insanely fast
-2-4 player splitscreen
-Joystick support
-Online highscores
-Championship mode
-Race against ghosts of all your previous times
-3 regular tracks, 1 unlockable bonus track, and 1 bonus track for those who pay for the game
-Highly moddable: tools and documentation to create your own levels are included with the game

What are the minimum system requirements for Proun?
A PC with Windows XP, Vista or 7. Proun will run on almost any computer. In case of doubt, just download for free and give it a try! Afterwards, if it runs and you enjoy it, please pay what you think it is worth!

Looks like the Binding of Isaac and Blocks that Matter were added to that bundle Iso!

I recommend to everyone to get that bundle asap for just Binding of Isaac alone! One of the best Indie games I've played this year, and it just received a free Halloween update as well!

Go get it!!!!!

Warning; I recommend playing with a gamepad...

Yeah I've got the same thing, already spent a ton of time on that game!

Brimstone is indeed OP but it feels good laying the smackdown with the big cyclops beam
