reach had better MP than 4.. thats pretty much a given..
There isn't a single thing about Reach MP that is better than Halo 4.

H4 has much better combat system, tighter controls, better pace, weapon balancing, AA balancing, maps and most importantly No bloom and no Armour Lock. Those last two points alone makes Halo 4 infinitely better than Reach.

I'm actually shocked that you like it with all of its bullshit Call of Duty-isms and horrid level design. I disagree. I'm not saying 3/Reach are the best Halo games either. They're just.. better than 4. Because 4 is a bad game.

The only thing 4 did right by Halo is hitscan weapons. And apparently that was enough for some people.

We've been down this road like a million times, but between the new weapons and armor abilities, the awful perks, and awful levels.. I'm just.. really surprised that a hardcore Halo dude thinks it's that good. Hell, 343 couldn't even knock this thing out themselves. They had to let "talent" like Digital Extremes build levels for them. Yeah, when you're going to DE for level design, that pretty much tells all.
H4 MP certainly isn't the best for a Halo game, Halo CE,2,3 all have it beat. But to say its "awful" is pretty crazy. Halo 4's (DE)MP maps are the worst thing about it, it really does have poor map design but the scarily refined combat system blows any other Halo game away and that is an incredible achievement. I hate perks in any game so no arguments there.

See.. I disagree. And if it's too difficult to give credit to Reach, that's fine. My opinion on Halo 4 isn't really influenced one way or the other by how I feel about Halo Reach. But are the armor abilities in Halo 4 better? The Perks? The level design? I don't think so, personally. There are certainly some things it does in a more "authentically" Halo way. But those things are completely muted by all of the really atrocious design in the game. I mean come on! The AA's are better in Halo 4? They're awful! And the perks.. oh god the perks! These things completely nullify any improvement to basic combat for me.

And does the scarily refined combat apply to things like grenades or just the hitscan weapons? :D

I just don't like it. Too much Call of Duty. Not enough Halo. If you can ignore all of that stuff (and indeed, you can, you can even play without it) that's fantastic. I just don't like it at all.

i will be honest this thread can pretty much die for now, i mean there is hardly any info on anything right now, there is so little to even talk about aside from bungies past games

Still amazed how LITTLE information there is on this game. and the one video they show us is, well.. lets be honest, its shit.

Ooh.. I thought I heard "no trailer" while lurking on NeoGAF. There's a bunch of great concept art from GDC as well. This thread can un-die.

All production stuff but still quite cool. And quite a few models and animations in there as well.

This game is selling me a next gen console if it doesn't come to the PC. Bungie are madmen though. Port begging? Port begging.

They really havn't managed to capture the awesome artwork in 3D, which is a shame. They all look pretty basic model wise and material wise. Armour looks less like metal, more like plastic...cloth looks less like cloth, more like plastic...they all look like plastic tbh, probably make for a good toy line though.

Might need some context for the design too, but they all look like they're from completely different games.

You'd think it was made by the same people or something. Which is ridiculous. Because we all know that 343 makes Halo.

Thankfully, bungie has a game design staff too. 343 should hire one.
