The only thing that confuses me a little is why would Microsoft send an internal email to the people actually working on the next Xbox, to tell them the connections scenarios? I
Mean should they not already be aware of this?

It's not like every employee working on Durango projects helped design the online ecosystem. It's not really that suspicious of a thing.

I'd like to point out that "Watching live TV" was on their list of offline activities. I wonder what the implications are there.

I could see it going either way. Integration with an existing set-top probably opens the market up a bit. Or at least it probably needs to include a stand-alone SKU.

When I had AT&T U-verse installed 1 year ago, they asked if I wanted to use my xbox as a receiver instead of them providing one (at a "rental" cost). I asked the guy if he recommended I do it, and since I have a 6 year old OG white xbox he said not to take a chance with the RROD and all. So I took the safe route and they gave me a receiver. I'm sure the Nexbox will be capable of being a receiver on its own, but in case some people are weary, the option to connect the receiver to xbox is great. In case any initial xbox problems I still have tv, and with the two integrated I'm curious to see where they take it. I'd definitely down with all this recent news.

Vgleaks were right about the PS4 controller leak. They were also right about PS4 specs except the changes made at the end about 8gb gddr5. The specs what they claim to be the latest for both the console. If you look at eurogamer article. At the left side they also believe the specs are close to final specs.

In the case of the brush-strokes of the Durango and Orbis specs, not only do we have double-sourced information of our own, but we also have an extra form of backup in the form of these other leaks. Therefore, our belief is that the specs we are discussing are not only accurate, but very, very close - if not identical - to the make-up of the final hardware.

I am pretty sure vgleaks are right on 720 as well except the last minute changes. 12gb ddr3 will not improve performance. The 360soc working in parallel will at least help in the performance deficit to PS4. Either way it will be good if Microsoft can actually reveal the specs like Sony did otherwise people will still be posting BS that they are working on something before release.

Absolutely, they have to give the specs. If it is more powerful they will say it can do 2.5 or 3 teraflops or whatever. If they are quite then it is indeed 1.2TF and slower.

Well Fear if you're talking about the blow back from service providers, then yes, there would be some problems. But technologically, taking a Cab/Sat broadcast signal through a media device is nothing, the only thing that would be required would be HDMI.

There actually isn't much really. Even OP's crazy hype train seems to have ground to a halt. There was a lot of noise made about the always online, and all the other negative rumours, but since then the hype has kinda died. Maybe it's because there has been no leaks for ages? But if you check out forums, no-one is speculating, or talking, or getting excited. It's a bit weird tbh, it's only a week away. Maybe the endless rumours, bad news, conflicting reports have just worn people out, they might be waiting for the reveal itself before the hype starts.

With all the disappointing rumors and controversy I don't know how anyone impartial could be hyped "before" this event. That could work greatly to MS' advantage if they deliver the goods though. Hell, as long they don't knock down the bar while they slide under it it will be a success.

Nothing could be further from reality. No longer merely a passenger on the train, now one of the engineers. :)

Tbh, price isn't really much of an issue, I usually get all consoles at launch, didn't get a wiiU and have no plan to so thats money saved. Will also probably only get one of the 2 new consoles but they need to sell it to me. Ps4 is by far in pole position and the only way sony can let me down is by delaying EU launch till next year.

Ball is in MS' court now though, if they can demonstrate a better machine with better potential and launch it first then i'm in. Leaks all need to be incorrect for that to happen though, no way i'm buying a £400 toaster with a camera.
