Not sure if that'll be the only Halo news either. MS keeping some cards closer to their chest than others it would seem.

I want to see AC 2 so much. I'm not very excited about Halo ODST to be honest.

Hopefully they show something that gets me interested.

I would very much love to get a Halo 4 that ends up being what Halo 3 should've been, but I have a feeling that game is being saved as a launch title for the next Xbox. I feel Microsoft really wants to make sure they launch with a mainline Halo game with their next Xbox.

All indications are pointing to this generation being significantly longer than the last (and last gen was cut short anyway). I don't think MS will go without their numero uno IP that long, even if they do something daft in 2011 like release another console.

That's not to say Halo 4 won't be a launch title mind, but they'll be at least one more Halo game between now and then. They didn't hire people to an internal team to sit there and write for 5 years.

2011 is still the mostly likely scenario for a new console, thatll be 6 years of the current one and i don't see MS wanting to let Sony regain the footing by stalling.

Who knows whats goin on with the halo franchise, they have ODST which for a glorified addon (same engine etc) is takin an awful long time. Theres job hirings goin on all over the place with halo attached to it, but its the single franchise they dont want to rush. Plus they cant get away with releasing another halo game on top of ODST using the same engine, it looks relativelt dated now, nevermind in a year or 2 when it actually releases.

I would be excited about ODST if it was a full on new game. But a minimal single player campaign with outdated graphics and possibly gameplay won't do it for me most likely.

It doesnt interest me in the slightest either, i know its coming out but it aint even on my radar for any reason. Halo needs master chief to get me to buy into it, other than that....no thanks.

Yeah it's weird 'cause it's still Halo you know. I don't even bother reading about it, it's total indifference for some reason. And it's not because it's missing the chief, I think I just have a notion that the game will not appeal to me because I don't see it as a full effort, or completely new game.

PSN Store will update daily during E3!

In Sony's latest marketing email, the company confirms that, like last year, the PlayStation Store will receive daily updates during the E3 expo.

"We'll be on the show floor at E3 from start to finish, loading up the PlayStation Store with new videos, themes and game content as it's unveiled," reads the email. "Check for PlayStation Store daily refreshes from 6/2 - 6/4 to get your hands on the best and latest out of E3."

While it's a given that all the latest game trailers and the Sony press conference will be offered as downloads, we wonder if "game content" means demos. Will some titles with summer and early fall releases make their way onto the PS Store as playable demos? It appears we'll have to wait until Tuesday to find out.

That too, its all of those things that have relegated it to the depths of the dont care category. Bungie really should be putting their effort into much more appealing titles, if theyre gonna do halo then do halo, or else just go down some entirely new route and give us something new, dont give us some half assed addon spinoff imitation halo. I wouldn't mind as much if it was knocked out in a few months or something and they had other things on the horizon but it seems to be something they are pinning their hopes on for this holiday season.

Im sure it will sell ok, but i think the average gamer is a little more savvy than they give them credit for and wont eat this up as easy as they think. Hey, I love Halo 3. I think it's a great game. Did the campaign fall short of greatness? Just slightly, really. It was still a fantastic ride, even if I was slightly dissatisfied with the narrative. I hope they save Halo 4 for the next Xbox. I wouldn't want to see it on the Xbox 360 hardware.

Then again, if it truly is Halo without Bungie, they can probably keep it anyway. Unless of course the gameplay is stellar. But ultimately I don't really trust the franchise in the hands of any other developer.

People put way too large of an emphasis on graphics. All of the shit I hear about Modern Warfare 2 on forums, for example, is nonsense. Great art direction (which Halo has in spades) trumps technology every single time. ODST could be a fantastic title, and we have no idea how "limited" it will be.

Plus, I suspect the cost of entry will reflect those limitations.. and that Bungie will push the Halo platform further than they did with Halo 3. Even the DLC content for Halo 3 looks considerably better than the campaign, as it did with Halo 2 as well.

Outdated.... because it's based on technology that's a couple of years old. God that's ridiculous.

Yea neither do I and I wouldn't want to see them attempt another TRUE successor to Halo 3 unless it's on new hardware.

Mainly because I get the strange feeling that they wouldn't put in the necessary effort to really take the series to the next level. I want something at least on par with what Infinity did going from COD2 to COD4.

My thoughts exactly Halo 3 was amazing and one of the best selling and highest rated games out there, now we have ODST which should be a blast also with just as much if not more gameplay quality.

The other developer thing always comes down to whether they choose to do something different or try to clone what was done before though.

I mean PGR is in the exact same situation. I've been playing five Bizarre developed racing games that all have been kinda different from one another and I'm pretty cool with - at this point - accepting another developer's take on it as long as they don't just repackage PGR4 and up the graphics. If they do the Fallout 3 type thing where they alienate a ton of fans who just can't seem to let go, then the result may very well be something cool in a new way that still adheres to the established tone and style of the previous ones.

I mean look at Metroid Prime for instance. Now I don't want to get into the argument of whether that's awesome or not because a lot of you guys don't think so and I know that. My point is though that its goodness has everything to do with in what ways they dared depart from - and even challenge - what had gone before, while still combining it with an atmosphere and tone that felt absolutely spot on.

Imagine if someone else does come along and makes a Halo game that is very, very different from the initial trilogy. If that is different enough that people hate it for not being Halo, then that might actually be totally awesome. It would be a new perspective on characters and the universe we all know and love, and it wouldn't just echo past greatness.

You always get the divide where some people won't accept the new direction taken, but I'll take that over a shallow clone any day. A machine decidedly without a ghost.

Say what? FPS, RTS, WestRPG ALL play best on the pc. and theres more than just that, plus the best multiplayer, the most features to the games etc etc etc.
For some reason ppl think pc gaming is expensive, which is false, since a pc you dont just use it for games...

I feel the same, I think everyone here here know how much I love Halo but I just cant seem to get excited about it. I know it will be awesome but I guess we just haven't seen anything to get excited about, so far....

Thanks for converting the times, some of those are a real pain in the ass. Last year was great, the times were all sorta midday onwards so could be watched one after the other. At least the big 3 are at ok times.

Which never looked that good. Pretty much the best thing Halo 3 did in terms of graphics is the lighting, everything else was so damn average. They came up with this "jungle" and some of the most horrible looking and animated character models I have seen this generation. It's like Forza 2.
