True but ms are not the only publishers out there, if remedy wanted it made now it would happen, they have already said they wanted to move onto there next big project/game, but will def return to wake at some point down the line, and i'm sure they will have a line of publishers just waiting to fund it, with ms front of the line.
What makes you so sure of that? Microsoft decided not to keep the franchise in the first place. It's not even a sure thing that they'll keep their new game.

And Alan Wake, while loved by fans, was not a gigantic hit... was it? I don't think people would fight over Alan Wake.

Remedy have already stated a number of times they will return to Alan Wake, and when there ready to do so, i don't think they will find it too hard to find a publisher.

I don't think so either. I just think that if Microsoft wanted Alan Wake, Alan Wake 2 would have already happen. They already abandoned the property once.

It's certainly possible. It's a little hard to tell what's a Xbox game or not when you have a history of temporary exclusives. They let American Nightmare go almost immediately.

I'm not sure I'd rather have AW2 than a new game anyway. Quantum Break looks cool, even if I'm far from sold on the Sega CD bits.

It's rare that Microsoft would recognize the value in Remedy over intellectual property. Microsoft cares more about having a strong portfolio of intellectual property and less about having first party developers that make great games.

No he is not. Look no further than Gears of War for your proof. MS cares about exclusive games that sell, they dont care if they are the publisher or if the game is a first party developed game. Alan Wake did not sell well hence why American Nightmare happened (cheaper to make). Alan Wake 2 will never happen just as Blue Dragon 2, Lost Odyssey 2, Crackdown 3, Kameo 2 will never happen and probably the same fate awaits Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break because there is no way in hell, they would sell on the same level that silly MS expects! This is the sad state of MS.

It would be a different story if it's Sony - Sony has always excelled at giving new IP a fair chance unlike MS.

Right so I should believe you over the dev's themselves lmao, they have stated a number of times they will return to Alan Wake, there a small studio and wanted to work on there next big thing first, go read there numerous recent interviews.

More likely that they'll continue to take the money from MS to do everything that isn't Alan Wake. If MS doesn't want it and it isn't going to make them more money than something else, why would they do it?

I watched there lengthy post E3 interview and they def said they are returning to Alam Wake at some point, so MS or not it's going to happen.
