C. Viper is probably the least offensive new design I've seen, but she still looks like some kind of King of Fighters reject. Chun-chun FTW.

Oh wow.. that's not her SF2/3 Spinning Bird Kick! They used her move from Street Fighter Zero/Alpha. That's wild. They should have included both, as in SNK Vs. Capcom Chaos. God she was so unbalanced and awesome in that game :)

Her super move is pretty awesome too. It's sort of crazy to see a combo heavy Chun-Li in a vanilla SF game, but I guess that's cool. She's definitely going to be my main when I'm not being a shoto scrub.

I just read the EDGE Magazine review and to my surprise, they gave it 9/10!! They say its the greatest of all Streetfighter games and its a Masterpiece of the fighting genre.

Looks like I'll be purchasing this after all.

It would be foolish to make comparisons between three games that will continue to be argued over and played in tandem with each other for years to come, but one thing can be said unequivocally. Street Fighter IV is not only the finest 2D fighter since… well, since Street Fighter III, but it’s a triumphant demonstration that classic mechanics can be updated and reimagined in the current videogame climate. It’s every bit the equal of its older brothers, and in conceptual terms is perhaps even beyond them in the way it caters for players of all abilities. This is, without doubt, a masterpiece of the genre.

Words like, "equal," and "perhaps" aren't meant to be ignored. Lets not be selective readers. But they did call it a masterpiece.

I sort of worry about why they think it's a masterpiece, but ultimately I think they're probably right anyway. They go on and on about how much easier this game is to play than any previous Street Fighter game, and how that must be a good thing. That level of accessibility will do loads for Street Fighter 4's sales, but what will it do to its longevity in competition? I guess only time will tell.

Regardless, I'm more excited about this game than ever.

Who cares if they dont say that outright, that is the general impression if you read review. Either way, take from that what you will, the statement is pretty clear to me.

I cant believe I ever doubted Capcom, they have never failed me to this day.

No.. if you read the entire paragraph it's pretty clear that they intentionally set not to say that. And I can't believe you can't believe you doubted Capcom. From DIMPS to Ono, there were plenty of reasons to doubt Street Fighter 4 from the start. It's wonderful that the game has turned out so well, but.. caution was plenty warranted in this case.

Seriously, if you're getting "ZOMG BEST STREET FIGHTER EVAR!" from that paragraph, you're reading it wrong. At best they say it's the best Street Fighter for noobies ever.

That's some awesome shit right there. So what if the coolest "new" character has already been previously established in the franchise lore.. and just happens to be another Shoto master? It's still cool.

I can't wait to see him played by a capable human player. Finally: Gouki/Akuma has a rival. Who cares if he's destined to be killed in combat by some super baddy?

I'm going to check this thing out for myself either late next week or early in the following. I look forward to it, and hopefully it will blow me away :)

Yes, Mr. CPU wasn't very good.

As one of the comments points out on Gametrialers, it is also sort of bizarre that his stance differs so much from Ryu/Ken/Akuma. But that kind of technical observation doesn't change the fact that he looks awesome.

Disagreed. This game looked gorgeous from the start. It's just too bad people whined like a bunch of goddamn babies which caused Capcom to scale back the style we initially saw in the first CG trailers (the black and white blurs/strokes). I'm pretty positive they said that is what it initially was going to look like
The only people who didn't see it from the start merely made opinions on very little content shown and being incredibly nitpicky

I fail to see how Capcom would ever allow Street Fighter mishandled no matter who is making it

Capcom has failed to see their fighting brand handled by the guy who made this. Why is it so hard to see that people might be cautious when approaching his next title, especially with so much brandpower on the line? I've stated my reasons for it way back on page one.. I still believe in that position, even having done a 360 on this game.
