The date and time at which the installation client for FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version will become available for download has been decided.

Client Availability: Friday, July 2, 2010 from approximately 1:00 a.m. (PDT)

Details regarding the precise dates and times of the upcoming beta tests will be announced in the near future.
Monthly Pricing Details:

* Base Monthly Fee: $12.99 / £8.99 / €12.99 (includes 1 character slot and 1 retainer)
* Additional Character Slots: $3.00 / £2.10 / €3.00 per month. (8 slots max).
* Additional Retainers: $1.00 / £0.70 / €1.00 per month.
Cheeky F*****rs... :|, just aswell we won't need extra character's.

FYI retainers are basically NPC's which can hold and sell your items.

Pretty stupid to limit you to 1 character, thats what makes WoW so amazing. I had like 15 characters across 10 realms lol.

It's worth mentioning that you don't need extra characters in FF14 because one character can play all classes, the only reason you might want a second character is if you fancy a change (which would mean losing all your achievements) or a family member wants to use the same account.

It is still kind of stupid but I doubt many will even care.

I got the beta email as well but I dont remember my square enix Id, nor password nor secret question answer LOL

Is that a must or can I just download the beta client and give it a go?

You will need the username and password to get in Sath, best try and remember :P

You can reset it and they will send you a new password to your email I believe.

For anyone playing the beta (going to play it) get a gamepad (wired 360 one works really well), its not even worth trying keyboard and mouse with the current control system.
