I believe you buy 30 days and use it as pay as you go.

Aha!!! now that is VERY VERY nice indeed. My interest in the game has now peaked! this is absolutely great news if true. I can play those 720 hours as & when I wish.

I can't imagine that's being interpreted correctly. Who sells 720 hour game cards, or time for an MMORPG that's measured in hours and not in days (Calendar days)? The second part of the translation mentions that it's a "popular" payment structure... but I've never heard of such a thing in my life.

If the concept is as Jollipop said than what I said is ineed the way this system works. i.e. you pay for ONE hour you play for one hour, you pay for 720 hours (30 days) you play for 720 hours. I think this could really work, why shouldnt it ? sure it's not as profitable as a monthly subscription but it could get a lot of people interested in the game.

Anyway, Let's see what they will announce.

..and that's why I don't think that's correct. Maybe I'm wrong, but are there games out there that are actually doing this.. and it's quite popular? Maybe some Asian MMORPG's? Most Korean games use the microtransaction model we're seeing more in the west.. I've never heard of this "30 day plan."

It would be a reasonable alternative though.. so if it's true, that's cool. I think I would personally prefer it over the more traditional microtransaction model.

Well that would make a lot more sense, since almost everyone sells 30 day game cards. They're not good for 720 hours of gameplay though, unless you don't have much else to do for the next 720 hours. I guess we'll see what their pricing plans are closer to release. It's pretty wild to expect this to be anything but a pay-to-play game though...

But then again, if it's not, that's okay with me too.

I believe Aion uses a pay as you go payment structure in China (i'm sure there are many more we don't know about), I duno how it works, but I think it makes sense, sometimes I don't play an MMO for months and then get back into it, if the credit is on my account I can play it whenever I like and not have to fart around with suspending my subsciption all the time or leaving the subsciption open on the off chance i might get back into it.

SE will make less money per subsciption, but it could make the game more appealing to casual players.

Hmmm, like the article says, not sure if an entire page that is built in japanease is a mistake.... TGS megaton perhaps ? who knows! we'll see..... There is an installed base of 1 million 360 owners in Japan now, may be square enix doest want to ignore those lot.

I agree Open lifeless ares are just plain boring. I love the 3rd screen. this game simply cant come soon enough.

I honestly thought Square would've learned their lesson with FF11, but they are doubling down :(

Also agree on wanting the summons to be more like ff7's were. Remember Knights of the round table or Zero Bahamut? Oh man... :D

I doubt with all the FMV there isn't much space for extra language options.

I'm quite surprised with the difference in voice acting quality in this though, especially when comparing it to 12's.

Yeah, I really want Alimo and Optimus to try the FF14 beta when it comes out, just to prove a point.
