Yup looks good, I don't think its under the radar, just people duno what the game is.

It's not really a traditional JRPG, hopefully it turns out great.

Yeah true. a recent eurogamer preview described the game as a turn based strategy game and I like the sound of that very much. I cant believe the game is only 9 days away from release. Between this and tomb raider on the same day, I really cant decide which game I should play first but they sure will keep me busy until Prince of Persia is released. This week end is going to be a Gears of War Fiesta!!!!

Just 2 days now, although, unfortunatley, I wont be able to get this until I have finished some of these blockbusters that I seem to be collecting. Fallout 3, Gears of War 2 (WOW!), Halo 3 (Still) and Fifa 09 are taking up more time than I have. I think i will have to save this one for christmas :(

Same here this should reach thurs as i have pre-order from Game, but i have so many games to get through, after a few more play throughs of the gears2 campaign, i shall bump this game to the top of my list.

The fighting looks like it could be interesting, but everything else looks like crap. So basically, FFXII. Well, the music is a hell of a lot better than FF XII. Sekito is so underrated over at SE.

Oh well, I'll still give it a go. May end up being surprised. Won't be till next year though, since I still need to beat valkyrie chronicles over Thanksgiving, then white knight chronicles(won't understand a damn thing) over Christmas.

Hmmm don't think it looks like crap, looks a lot better than WKC in my opinion.

Won't be getting this for a long while though, I only got time for WotLK at the moment.

well crap was a bad term, more like less interesting than the other games on my queue list. At least it's nice to see SE try and mix things for a change. Now they just need to get Sekito on more projects, and the circle will be complete.

OK played about 4hrs the story seems to be picking up and also so does the combat, the first few hrs of combat anyone can do with your eyes closed its that easy, but now that i have just my one union, that i am now building up from scratch and i also now have the ability to pull a number of enemies into battle all at once, its got allot more strategic and challenging for me(in fact the first time i pulled about five enemy groups into a fight, i got raped!). The combat is not that hard to get used too and its now just starting to grow on me, you can tell this was made for entry level turnbased folks, as the only character you can micro manage is your own one, so newbies to the turnbased genre wont get overwhelmed, (personally i love to micro manage all my sqaudmates, but oh well) but there is depth to the combat as i am now finding out, i am spending endless time in the union board menu choosing the best formation for my squad, and selecting who stays and who gets left behind, and in combat choosing which groups to attack and whether to flank or not become very important, and so far i only have one union with 3 units in it, i cant imagine how much time tweaking i will do when i have upto 4 unions with 7 units each in them!!, anyway what has really pissed me off is for some reason i am not getting any achievements? the only thing i can think off is somehow the pre-order redeem code i got which gave me 3 formations has somehow fracked up the achievements system? this has really pissed me off! , so much so that i stopped playing and put in GOW2 on Horde and kicked some serious locust ass!!

So far...

Good:

Voice acting is very well done.
cut scenes are done well also .
Combat getting interesting.
graphics in places are very nice.

Bad:

framerate in combat is bad (what the hell do QC do?)
texture popin in this game is frequent.

Oh and i hear day one sales in Japan are 80K?

Looks like the experience is marred with technical issues which is really too bad :( I will still get it mind you but for god's sakes why didnt square just use their own engine ....... UE3 FTL

Nah...I wouldn't mind the technical issues. All the sites said the same thing about Lost Odyssey and gave it a low score but I still liked it.

ok now i'm really enjoying the combat, so much so that i'm just doing quest after quest and just roaming the land looking for fights :), i now have 3 unions and 10 units, when i now battle i am pulling in at least 3 linked enemy groups, which means i am battling 6/7 groups of enemies against my 3 unions and its getting really intense and strategic.

Only in combat, but as its turnbased for me its not an issue, what really lets it down it the texture popin, its the worst i have seen in any game so far and spoils the immersion, also it has way to much loading screens, i have heard that if you install the game to the hard drive it helps? i might try it but i'm not sure how it will work with a 2 disc game.

Its a shame as the technical faults will put people off, but the combat i am finding really refreshing and interesting and the story is picking up also, the fact that i have not gone back to GOW2 or started Fallout3 yet should say allot for how much i am still enjoying this game.

That's grea to hear. I will be getting the game myself this week. Installing the game helps actually according to the reviews but with 2 discs you need about 12-14GB of space so if you have a 20GB 360, it may not be possible, sadly.
