I thought it was pretty hilarious that they used a gamepad to record the 17 minute BF4 debut video. I mean.. why?

Even our videos need to be accessible now.

I think the internet got Adam Orth fired, but they really wanted Steve Ballmer.

As soon as I read this I said to myself, "Well, well, well. It was only a matter of time."

The problem as always with rumors is that you are listening to 2nd hand information, and that information has probably changed hands numerous times before it reaches these game sites and forums. So for months we've been told no used games and always on, now it looks like these "insiders" were either mislead, or misunderstood the information they were given.

And as I said earlier in this thread, ALL of this speculative crap happened exactly the same way during the start of this generation. People swore they knew the specs for the Xbox 360, and they were all proven wrong. And so once again we've entered the silly season of gaming. Take whatever you are reading or hearing with a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of caution.

720 SKU is not ready and probably they want to show it to the public that could be the reason of the dealy. The only thing I see strange about vgleaks is xbox mini with no optical drive and it can be used for BC by connecting to 720. Not sure why they are reporting it unless they know something ? Vgleaks also has the evolution of PS4 even after the specs was confirmed. They were right about PS4 and are probably right about 720 as well. 360 was rushed to the market everyone knows that. This time I do not think they will release a console with oveheating or unreliable console.

Well we don't need to wait for Always Online DRM anyway. I tried playing the trial for Battleblock Theater I downloaded and it wouldn't let me play a Local game without trying to connect to Xbox Live.

What a time to be alive.

No joke, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey alone make me satisfied with the 360's first party. I've played these two games so much and I just never get tired of them. Going to play through Blue Dragon and then when I'm done, I'm headed to Lost Odyssey again.

Oh, also, over the weekend CVG received separate confirmation that May 21 is the date for the next Xbox event. We'll dedicate the entirety of our resources to the event when it happens, as you can imagine.

In other matters, this week we'll also be providing a first look at two new games - which I believe we're not allowed to mention just now. You'll find out soon enough.

A possibility, but considering the entire article is about Microsoft and the Next Xbox, and the comment about the two games comes almost immediately after their confirmation of the May 21st next Xbox reveal, it would be pretty damn strange for those two games to not somehow be related to the next xbox. My interpretation of it is that maybe the two games are completely separate and unrelated to the May 21st event, but that they are likely still games that will be on the new xbox. They may just not be exclusives belonging to the new Xbox.

Well it's sorta a non-statement on their behalf. Sure, they'll have information about new games, and sure, they're going to be "next-gen." What new games aren't? It's a gigantic fluff piece. Even the May 21st reveal is something we've known about for weeks.

They're just stirring up traffic.

Ok, moving on. Have you read the VGLeaks article about the Durango specs? Yes? Good because everything you read in that article was 100% correct. Except, for one tiny little detail that MS kept guarded from most devs until very recently. That detail being that every Durango ships with a Xbox 360 SOC.

There was a reason why MS hired so many former IBM and AMD employees. I'll admit I'm not an electrical engineer (I'm in software) so I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of how the 360 SOC integrates into the Durango motherboard. All I know, and all I need to know about this new change is that I (or a game dev) can use the 360 SOC in parallel with the original Durango hardware.

What does this mean in basic terms? Well, apart from Durango having 100% BC with the 360, it also increases Durango's processing power a fair amount.

This is because any app/game that is created for the Windows app store will (after adding controller support of course) be playable on Durango.
In other words, any random person worldwide can pay Microsoft a $60 license fee (for the Windows Store) and submit their app/game to the store where millions of people can then download/buy it. No expensive development kits needed.

And looks like the game CVG alluded to is Fifa 14, which will of course have a next gen version. I can't wait for those games on next gen systems. Those games are some of the most fun I've had this gen, amazing gameplay.

Likely fake, as the whole 360 soc helping Durango thing sounds all sorts of complicated unless they have some really efficient way for it to help out with processing on the system, which I suppose they would obviously have for this to make sense, but it just sounds a bit much. It might make for some interesting scenarios with those 3 hardware display planes, however.
