I completely agreed with you and will be shaking my head too!

Looks like it`ll be only one console for me this coming generation
and it looks like it`ll be the PS4.

The only way that MS can convince me otherwise is to have full VR
support for the Oculus Rift.

If Sony and MS both start going on about VR and try to put their own
out then I very much doubt it`ll top what Palmer Luckey and the crew
are doing at Oculus so I`m still open-minded about the possibility of
building a new PC too as an alternative.

In fairness, MS have yet to show off their hardware or talk about their upcoming machine so I won`t say anything `too` permanent yet lol.

Fingers crossed that they show something good just before and including E3!

Its a given that they will talk about the Hardware/Services/Games and Kinect, but with only 60mins for the May 21st event, I expect the focus to be on hardware (plus Kinect v2) - services - and a few games.

I hope like with Sony we get one AAA demo up and running.

Just remember in a publisher's book a AAA game is one that sells. Kinectimals and Kinect Sports are AAA franchises.

Never heard that definition. AAA has always been regarded as a title with a high budget (long dev cycle, large team etc) imo. If it was a game that sells, a new IP could never be labelled AAA, but publishers use the term all the time. Didn't microsoft claim they had a "AAAA" new ip in the works? That must be costing a shit load to develop.

It is cool. I question how visibile it really is under daylight, but otherwise it's a cool feature. I don't like some of the "illusions" like the grid, and extended video. But the explosions and tracer fire zipping out the screen in a dark room looks pretty sweet. If they bundle that in with the 720 it'd be awesome.

The long-awaited first game from Respawn Entertainment—the studio helmed by the creators of Call of Duty—will be exclusive to the next-gen Xbox, according to two unrelated sources familiar with the game. One of our sources indicates that there will also be an Xbox 360 version, but no versions for rival PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

The new game from Respawn is a futuristic multiplayer-centric online shooter, one of our sources says. The source describes the game as a battle of Davids and Goliaths. The Davids are heavily-armed foot soldiers. The Goliaths are the giant exosekeltons—Titans—that these soldiers can pilot. These Titans are big mech-style walkers that move with an agility not seen in games like Mechwarrior or Steel Battalions.

The new Respawn game, one of our sources tells us, is made on a modified version of Valve's Source engine, not on internal EA tech. The source believes the game looks very good on Durango but not as good as EA's internally-made Battlefield 4. That source also says that Respawn is only working on the Durango version of the game and is hand-picking a studio to make the 360 edition.

Fittingly, one of our two sources for the new game tells us that Respawn's futuristic shooter will be designed for multiplayer. In fact, they say, the game is always-online. The always-online detail was also offered by our other source. We haven't been able to clarify whether the game would permit offline play.

The Respawn game's multiplayer will operate on a grand scale, one of our sources said, with players picking between two massive factions and with all of their experience in the game counting toward the progress of their faction. The source said multiplayer would support 16 players but that Respawn would add AI-controlled characters to make the action more frenetic and to give novice players a greater chance to score some kills.

Our source was less clear on whether the game would have a single-player mode but speculated that players might be able to go into maps and battle only against bots. They did not think that the game would have a standalone linear campaign, which might disappoint those who enjoyed the excitement and narrative daring of Modern Warfare's solo campaigns.

A lot of stuff in this, especially stuff about MS being six months behind on internal development and are aggressively going out and signing exclusive deals for Durango titles.
