That was a disappointment for me. I don't know if I'm not the market their aiming for or what. But the excessive focus on TV and kinect put me right off. The new forza didn't look too hot to me, remedy's game (and the only interesting reveal) was majority live action, and COD looked like it's playing catch up to modern games, rather then making something truly impressive looking...plus it just looks like more of the same. Halo TV show seemed cool, but i'd rather such big news be about gaming, not some TV series... I get what they're going for. And if you're a TV watching american sports fan, i'm sure it'll be an exciting prospect. But i'm non of those things. I'm a gamer.

On the plus side, i really like the look of the console. Very clean, and sleek looking. Pretty enormous, but sexy.

Hopefully now they've got all that crap out of the way E3 will be pure awesome. Now we play the waiting game...again.

Did the rumoured specs get improved upon? They seemed to be ignoring specifics. I only saw 8 gig of ram?

It has usb 3.0 and wifi.

Theyre too embarassed about how shit their machine is in comparison. I mean 3 operating systems lol, thats gotta eat a ton of resources.

Atleast Sony showed games and tech demos people cared about and was more about the game features of the controls, SPECS, and Shadow Fall.

MS didnt show anything special other than montage of sports games and Forza trailer and...COD, no specs talk, no upcoming IPs other than Remedy (which is fine but i didnt like alan wake so I was interested really).

So yeah, Sony had a much better event than this piece of crap.

They basically showed 2 games and then spent 45 minutes of an hour gushing about browsing the internet and watching fucking TV at the same time!

Biggest news was something they didn't announce at the event and that is that used games seem to be a no go on the Xbox One. Every game has to be individually registered on Xbox Live.

What follows naturally from this is that each disc would have to be tied to a unique Xbox Live account, else you could take a single disc and pass it between everyone you know and copy the game over and over. Since this is clearly not going to happen, each disc must then only install for a single owner.

Microsoft did say that if a disc was used with a second account, that owner would be given the option to pay a fee and install the game from the disc, which would then mean that the new account would also own the game and could play it without the disc.

But what if a second person simply wanted to put the disc in and play the game without installing – and without paying extra? In other words, what happens to our traditional concept of a “used game”? This is a question for which Microsoft did not yet have an answer, and is surely something that game buyers (as well as renters and lenders) will want to know.

As for the event itself, very disappointing, but not at all surprising. As more people continue to the cut the cord MS is focusing on catering to US Live TV subscribers.

Lol at that kotaku thing. So always online, single use, no 2nd hand, DVR, underpowered, kinect required is all true. Its a complete clusterfuck of a mess. At least it has usb 3.0

I don't think anyone noticed but it has an 8 core CPU, although it doesn't say what speed it's running at. The GPU spec is totally missing from the slide, which doesn't bode well unless they are saving that nugget of info for E3.

The event was disappointing. I thought they would of showed more games. Ah well my PC will serve me well until a price drop happens as I cannot see myself picking up any of the new machines at launch.

I am not a big fan of tv series since they sometimes fail and get cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons. And since its sci fi the graphics and such can be a mix bag.
But I would be lying if I said i wasent interested. i just hope they dont cast bullshit "hot cast for more views+romance" nonsense then I wont bother, like that SHIELD show that seems to be going with.

Kinect every bit as impressive as I expected it would be as a consumer device on the new xbox so far. Some solid integration and use examples shown there.

Quantum Break, I'm extremely excited by that. Can’t wait to learn more about it. Probably the next gen new ip that I'm most interested in as of now, although I wouldn't be surprised if that changes come E3. I'm glad Remedy is back at it, because I loved Alan Wake.

8 brand new franchises, 15 exclusives in first year of Xbox one. Interested to know which those are. I assume some are Kinect titles.

Makes sense to stock up and unload at E3. The console looks pretty damn awesome. Cautiously optimistic about the apparent trigger change.

LOL. No, it isn't "all true." Developer's have a choice. Most, if not all, may choose not to. And used games aren't something I see as that big a deal. I like to buy my games new. Practically 100% of the games I've bought on Wii, 360 and PS3, are all games that I bought new, with the exception of Naruto: Broken Bonds (sequel to Rise of a Ninja from Ubisoft), and I did so with tons of hesitation because they didn't have a new copy in Gamestop. However, if accurate, I guess that would put a damper on my ability to lend friends and family my games. Not something I do, too often (although there are tremendous spikes at times depending on the game), but it's always nice to know that you can. I don't have an issue with online registration of titles. In fact, I always expected that there would be one time online activations.

Sony's event was def more geared towards core gamers. Not that Microsoft's wasn't to a degree, but they had other objectives at this event, and it will all come full circle at E3. Maybe I'm by myself on this, but I was pretty damn pleased and impressed with the tv integration and how well Kinect worked with the system. I want these consoles for the games they can bring, but I'm also just as excited about the features or services that these systems will bring, so I do want my console to be more than just a simple games machine. I want it to try and do it all while still being a solid gaming device.
