I did not expect such grand epic choir and orchestra from Tomb Raider title, feels like it is from a trailer music or something.

I duno, the lighting looks better in the 08 screen and the background looks much better, but the models (especially the cat looks worse) and they removed a lot of ground foliage aswell.

The removal of the foliage is for the better, they just dont blend with the lighting and look completely flat in the 07 shot. Wish we had an ingame shot with lara in a comparable pose, just for some reason the hair looks better in the old shot, might just be the lighting or whatever but it looks like they have cut the polys and brought it closer to the old style of hair (rectangular connected shapes).

That's because there were no trees in the pre alpha screen. Check all the trees and the grass on the left of the screen on the pre Beta one not to mention the MUCH MUCH better textures and the increased number of polygos due to all the branches sticking out.

Also the angle from which the screen was taken doesnt show Lara very well, I think. Anyway, I cant wait for E3 for the first video of the game.

There is a decent difference between the shots Jolli, and the "removal" of foliage makes sense. Just take a look at the old, shot, like where the hell do those plants come from?

The new shot is a lot more authentic and a million times more artistically inclined and coherent. Lighting looks different in the new shot I'd say, not worse. And I think the panther looks equally crappy on both. The overall detail for the environment has increased x4 though, which is quite good.
