Well, don't worry too much about the fox fight, as that's just a set piece that is unavoidable, considering the way the story plays out.

The village's top ninja, the one who blocks that powerful energy attack, fights a very powerful ninja who is secretly controlling the fox behind the scenes. When he applies that sealing technique to that ninja's chest, it removes the mysterious ninja's ability to control the fox. The badass ninja with the yellow hair is the main character's father, and the one who sealed that powerful fox inside the manga's main character, who also happened to be born on that very night when the village was attacked by the fox.

He sacrificed his life to protect the village and prepare his son for what's to come in the future on that same night. He kicks that ninja's ass, but not before the mysterious ninja in the mask rips the fox out of his wife's stomach (the head village ninja's wife was the host for that dangerous fox.) There are 9 such deadly creatures (technically 10, but longer story), and that 9 tailed fox is the strongest of them all. To extract any of the 9 from a human host's body is a guaranteed death. The seal that keeps it contained weakens during child birth, and the village's top ninja was trying to keep it from breaking free the entire time, which he had managed to do successfully, until that mysterious ninja ambushed them, and used his newborn son (Naruto) as bait to lure him away from his true target, the top ninja's wife. The fox's name is Kurama btw :)

The top ninja is called the Fourth Hokage (name is Namikaze Minato), and the old man that fought the fox is his predecessor, the Third Hokage (name is Sarutobi Hiruzen).

I wasn't sure if you were too familiar with the story since you called the fox 'that Fox', so I gave ya a brief summary.

I definitely know Naruto's father when i see him, man he is an absolut badass!

I love the move were he throws a kunai, enemy dodges, but he dadhes and then teleports above the enemy and goes into a nasty fireball attack from above, its a secret move in the demo i did, along with others...randomly lol
I love his teleport dashes, so fast and flashy just how i like my fast characters :)

Also Shikaku Nara was shown briefly during the fox battle when everyone was charging an attack, i hope he is playable one way or the other.
I mean if this game is suppose to have the biggest Naruto game roster it would be annoying not to have him in lol

Anyways, after playing the demo like 3 times on row, checking the trailers afterwards...very hyped for this, mostly on the hack and slash mode and then 1v1 battles.
I also need to get my hands on the OST as well :)

What's even more awesome about those fast dashes, is that they aren't actually fast dashes at all. He's quickly traversing alternate dimensions. That movement isn't traditional high speed human movement from point a to point b. What he's doing is literally traveling or entering an alternate space-time dimension, and then reappearing back in the normal dimension faster than the blink of an eye, only in a new location. He's considered the fastest ninja of all time. The name of the technique? The Flying Thunder God Technique or Hiraishin. It's precisely what he did to the fox's massive energy blast. He sent it to an alternate dimension, and then he instantly had it reappear in the real dimension, only in a much safer location where there's no people.

Those special knives you see him throwing have a special formula on them that he created, and wherever one of those knives are thrown, he is able to instantly teleport to them in a flash, regardless of the distance between point a and point b. It all happens in a flash, hence his nickname, The Yellow Flash. His opponent knew that much, but he had absolutely no idea that he could also teleport to one of those knives while they were still in mid-flight through the air. His opponent has the ability to let all attacks pass harmlessly through his body.

If you don't have a very good plan and execute it with incredible speed, you have no chance of ever landing an attack on that ninja in the mask, something Naruto's father managed to figure out instantly with zero prior knowledge of his opponent's abilities before the night of his surprise ambush. Naruto's father took and used his opponent's own strong ability and turned it into a weakness. His opponent was trying to touch him with his hand, because the moment he touches someone with his hand, he can warp them into that special eye of his, essentially defeating most opponents. He managed to touch Naruto's father earlier, but he didn't immediately use the warp ability, so Naruto's father instantly used his flying thunder god technique to escape being pulled into that dimension.

Both ninjas are Space-Time Ninjutsu specialists, they just utilize it in very different ways.

If that wasn't enough, in the very instant that he hits the masked ninja in the back with that attack (called the Rasengan or spiraling sphere), he secretly without that guy knowing, planted the EXACT same special teleportation formula on his back in one smooth motion. That's how he was able to teleport so quickly over to the masked ninja and apply that sealing formula on his chest, robbing him of his ability to control the fox any further. Notice he also catches back the exact same knife he threw from the start?

He was a ninja so badass that entire countries and other major ninja villages had a no questions asked flee on sight order the moment he was spotted on the battlefield. It was an order that even applied to the strongest ninjas of other villages :D

Its awesome that he does teleport through dimension though to the normal eyes it looks like a typical zigzag teleport.
I also noticed on the Sai he has some sort of a kanji sanskrit on them, thats pretty much the reason why he could counter that fireball by the fox demon and then teleport that to another place...my jaw hit the floor.
I litterally said "you cant be serious?" when the fireball came at him, but then i saw him counter that and I was "he was serious lol". Marvelous visuals doing so as well.

He is awesome IMO from what i seen in anime and game fight scenes. Kakashi is another guy i really like since i love lightning based characters, fast ones at that.

Yea, those zig cag special effects are for dramatic effect; They exist purely to make it easier for the dev team to highlight the movement of the kunai knife as it's been thrown.

So if you ever see a zig zag path, what he's doing is literally throwing the knife in a direction, quickly teleporting to that direction, catching the knife back, throwing that same knife again in a new direction, and then teleporting to the knife again.

When he teleported that massive attack from the fox, he actually chose one of his pre-positioned kunai knives positioned in various places outside the confines of the ninja village, but particularly in the top secret location where his wife was giving birth to Naruto prior to them being ambushed by this mysterious ninja. If you really think about it creatively, when he snuck one of his special markings on that ninja's back without him knowing, what could have prevented him, if god forbid the fox fired another one of those massive things at him, from absorbing that blast again, but this time choosing the exit point for the blast as the special marking that is physically planted on the masked ninja's body. Crazy stuff. He does something else pretty insane after what you saw, but I won't spoil that. I'll let ya see for yourself, although if you're dying to know what he did, then that very manga chapter I linked ya to will show you. :D

Kakashi is a boss! :D I love his fighting style and tactical brilliance.

The background story on how creative these moves are is something i really enjoy, but to the "naked eye" of not knowing the series indepth (like me) its just typical movement, but i do appreciate them alot though...just makes the characters much more complex than what they seem to appear.

And yes thats the move from the manga i did, two times randomly which i need to figure out how to do it in the full game. My friend who been into Naruto since the start keeps giving me links to fights like that since he knows i like them so i am no stranger that Naruto's father and that move, i seen it before hence why i got excited doing it in the demo :)

And yes Kakashi is awesome.

Tbh i want to see more of this hack and slash mode more.
Like is it like action adventure mode or is it like waves after waves? can we pick any character we want in that mode or is it specific?
I know Sasuke is playable since thats what they showed in one of the trailers using his sword.

Also, do you know if Shikaku Nara is playable in the game? I think read his son is playable, which i dont care for lol

Asuma and Hanzo are two characters i will use alot since they use weapons. Hanzo uses the Kusarigama like Ryu does in NG3 Razors Edge and NG2, but better IMO.
And asuma has the fist blades which extends longer which is awesome.

Well, the adventure mode will definitely focus a good deal on Naruto, since he's the main character, but I'm certain there will be key moments where you control Sasuke (Kage Summit attack and then his fight with Danzou), possibly others such as Gai vs Kisame, Kakashi and co vs the seven ninja swordsmen of the hidden mist perhaps, Mifune vs Hanzo. In the adventure mode, I see there being plenty of opportunities to use other characters in the adventure mode.

Shikaku, it's tough to know if he'll be playable, since we've never actually seen him fight, ever. However, given the circumstances of the manga at the moment, I'd say it couldn't hurt for them to extend some respect to one of the manga's greatest strategic minds.

But how is this adventure mode?
Is it like running around, platforming and fighting like a regular action adventure game, or is it cutscene, limited area to fight, cutscene, limited area to fight...etc.?

I want to have something like Ubisoft's Rise of the Ninja were we can run around and do some platforming, fighting grunts and bosses...etc. have a sense of adventure mode.

As far as i seen from footages, 1v1 character (human forms) and the hack and slash mode is what interests me, the rest...i guess i will find out once its out, though i already can tell i wont touch those "beast battles" unless its forced :(

Well, you won't have nearly as much freedom to move about the world as in Ubisoft's Rise of a Ninja, I'm afraid. It will be more oldschool with how you move around in adventure mode. It will be fixed camera angles, but rather impressive looking scenery nonetheless, as you move throughout the world, and you'll move from major one on one battle to major one on one battle. You won't feel as if the world is small, but you'll definitely have much less interaction with the world around you compared to rise of a ninja. I also wouldn't say there's any serious platforming of any kind in this game, compared to Rise of a Ninja. It's bread and butter is the flashy set piece one on one ninja battles, and the creative ways the dev finds to enhance them, often times destroying the anime depiction of that same fight, but in a good way. The anime has really lost a lot of the talent that use to be on board in the early going that made it so good.

I blame the epicly long fillers after the big Naruto vs Sasuke fight at the Valley of the End.


Sometimes you'll face the odd grunt here or there, but more times than not, you'll be having major set piece one on one fights, more like the type you prefer. The beast battles will more or less be few and far between. However, there's maybe guaranteed to be at least 3 such set pieces, one you've already seen plenty of, the other you've seen some of, and the last has merely just been teased thus far.

Its hard for me to visualize it in my head how that plays out, i need to see it it...only 2 weeks now :)

This trailer should give you a good feel. It lets you see adventure mode style exploration with the fixed cameras. The scenery tends to be pretty impressive and has a very accomplished anime look to it all.

Also, asuma's fist blades are what's known as chakra knives. They are knives that are able to absorb the affinity of a ninja's chakra (energy). Asuma is from the Sarutobi clan (he's the son of the old man who fought the fox), which specializes in fire element techniques, but Asuma while he can perform fire element techniques, he seems more comfortable with wind elemental techniques, which is the most powerful offensive element for piercing, slashing and such. What Asuma does is he funnels his wind element chakra into those chakra absorbing blades of his, and then he performs what's known as shape manipulation on his chakra to extend the wind chakra in the form of an even longer knife or sword as you see him do in the game. So, what you see him swinging at people is wind element power.

Shape manipulation is the secret behind that ball like technique you see Naruto's father using. Only that technique that Naruto's father created is the absolute and ultimate form of shape manipulation that a normal human being could hope to master, but as impressive as the creation of that technique may have been, it was, the entire time, the result of a still incomplete technique. Naruto's father never lived long enough to complete it. Naruto himself did complete it, and that's what that "Wind Style - Rasen Shuriken" is at the start of the trailer I linked to in this post.

It's the ultimate form of shape manipulation (the rasengan) combined together with Naruto's chakra affinity (wind element -- he's the same type as Asuma) Combining the two things, it created a significantly more powerful technique. It's a technique that would have likely many, many years to master, were it not for the fact that Naruto possesses the ability to create 999 clones of himself, and thus he was able to train that way to enhance his training results, making it so that he could master things in 1/1000th of the time it would normally take. Training that would normally take someone 20 years time to complete, is able to be completed by Naruto in a week, using his multiple shadow clone technique to its max.

It's these little details that made me become such a huge fan of the series in the first place. I liked that things weren't just happening 'just because', there's an explanation for almost everything.

Same here with me and Ninja Gaiden, has alot of details and backstory, but unlike Naruto they dont expand it (like Ryu turning into a blue demon near end of Ninja Gaiden 1).

Nah Ryu has fiend blood in him. he is from dragon lineage, even Doku says before dying after defeat to Ryu "you are not so different from us". Though little is known since they didnt expand that unfortunetly.

So yeah Ryu isnt just a typical human ninja most think, he is way more than that shame Team ninja isnt expanding that.
