I can't seem to have smooth playback on any of the 1080p/60fps videos I get from this site.
Here's my process: I download the videos to my PC, copy them to my PS3 hard drive and watch them from there. Now, I downloaded a Forza 5 gameplay vid that was supposed to be 60fps, but it looked more like 24-30 fps...and I downloaded an NBA 2K14 video, and not only was the audio was completely out of sync, the video ran at what felt like 5-10fps. I figured it might be a resolution/file size issue, so I made an mp4 file of the 2K14 vid at 704 x 480 (using Handbrake)...and, sure enough, it played fine.
But I don't get it. I've downloaded vids from other sites like eurogamer and games.on.net at 1080/60, and had no problems playing them on the PS3. Is it a codec issue or something? I'm brand new to this site, so forgive me if this question has been answered a millions times already. It just sucks cause this site has so many awesome gameplay videos...please help!
This way, their videos need less power to be played at 60 FPS, while ours need more power but have better quality, close to what users can see on their consoles/PC.

So what would be the best way/settings to get videos on this site to run smoothly on the PS3?
There will be a loss in quality but should play smoothly on PS3 and average PCs.

The PS3 can definitely handle 1080p60, even if it's at a slightly lower bitrate. I just need to figure out how to reduce the quality just enough (no more, no less) to play smoothly on the PS3.
If you guys know a setting that does the trick, please let me know. I'm sure there are a lot a people with the same issue. Maybe they could be directed to this forum for help. :)
