Gamersyde Diaries: Second! This month the menu is rather varied and each of the major platforms gets some coverage, Motorstorm and Resistance for the PS3, a big focus on Red Steel for the Wii, Call of Duty 3 and Gears of War for the 360, and the icing on the cake we'll put the spotlight on Nervous Brickdown, a lovely DS game developed by a small studio in Paris and that we really wanted to show to the world. Also worth mentioning, the video is now available in WMV format, using the classic WMV9 codec so it should work nicely with Flip4Mac, and a 720p version is on its way. As always we are looking forward to your comments!
Update: 720p WMV version added ! Only available on Bittorent.
A few side notes: We mention that Motorstorm is a launch title. It's of course a "launch window" title, with the japanese version being available in a few weeks in Japan already.
Also important, you'll notice that the framerate in the Gears of War part doesn't look too good. This isn't because of the game, but because on the fps conversion from 30 to 25. As soon as we have some money, we'll buy a NTSC HD camera and this won't be a problem anymore. Let me state this again, Gears of War is a totally smooth game ;)

Commented on 2006-11-23 20:35:20A lot of sense has been spoken and it's good enough to go on TV (in UK anyway....with all the shit shown on TV here).
the only criticism is that sometimes the conversations drag on but other than that, great.
Very nice sense of humour as well throughout :)

Has anyone seen that old Clint Eastwood flick"Play Misty For Me"?
Maybe Hollywood could re-write it with the main role being handed to Snoopers playing the silken voiced videogames journo being stalked by the handsome and dashing English gentleman, desperate for his attention, they could rename it "Play XBOX For Me!" LOL

Commented on 2006-11-23 22:03:38hey Snoopers, you guys should do more of a viewer interactivity segment to your show, I don't really have any solid ideas but I'd love to have a shot at being a part of the show once in a while. Maybe just a questions section, or chat, or something.
I'm real tired so I can't think of anything good I guess, just thought I'd throw that in there.

Commented on 2006-11-23 22:51:44It's kind off annoying trying to read them and watch at the same time, expecially when you talk so fast.
Maybe I'm just slow or something, and I can cope with it, but it's far from ideal, imo.
Anyone else have this, or is it just me..?

Commented on 2006-11-24 00:02:42 In reply to SimonM7I like the honest opinions that in some cases get quite deep or emotional. The footage also is really good coz it's not just pieced together from old movies, it's all fresh and is relevant to whats being said. The only problem i have is that i cant watch and read at the same time so have to watch it more than once. But i guess you get that all the time with english movies so i guess we're even;) well almost.
Commented on 2006-11-24 00:07:10 In reply to ScarfaceI understand English perfectly, so when I watch an English movie/show or whatever with (Dutch, in my case) subtitles, I kind of read bits of the subtitles and listen to the English anyway, so I don't know but it works perfectly anyway.
But I don't understand French at all, so I have to rely on the subtitles and that is the main difference...

Well,i didn't like the show that much, however i agree with all the points you guys made.
You need to upload some exclusive xboxyde video footage that we havnt seen and talk about it to make me wanna stay :)
Commented on 2006-11-24 01:14:06Only constructive comment I'd have is maybe get a pair of microphones so your voices are centered to your location on screen. Now they are a bit spread out with the one stereo mic and perhaps also because of the walls reflecting you. With that one improvement it will be a really professional production!
Is that drawing in the bg based on an old Levi's poster? I have it here somewhere....

Commented on 2006-11-25 11:28:17And guess what, I paid the premium price to import the japanese version, and considering the questionable quality of this game I certainly regret my money. And before you say I'm biased, I loved the first DOAX, played it for like 30 hours.
Count on me for a first 10 minutes today or tomorrow, but don't count on me saying much good things about DOAX2.
