Why coming to the 360 first?
360 is easier to dev for, codemasters and sony are working together to port the game to the ps3.

We got our first look at the Xbox 360 version of DIRT during a recent meeting with Codemasters, and we're pleased to report that it's looking very promising indeed.
DIRT will introduce a number of more fiercely competitive events to the mix, including rally raid, rally cross, crossover, hill climb, and CORR (Championship Off-Road Racing) competitions. Different off-road disciplines are contested on different types of courses, and DIRT will feature no fewer than 55 different tracks on which to test your off-road driving skills.
Divided up into 12 distinct classes and categories, the game's garage will include super buggies, pro 4 trucks, and a plethora of rally cars that includes everything from such classic favorites as the '70s Lancia Stratos to Colin McRae's new all-wheel drive R4 prototype.
After witnessing more than a few spectacular crashes during our demo, we can vouch for the fact that they sustain damage that's at least as realistic as anything that we've seen previously.
Looks like a fully featured game unlike motorstorm

Looks very nice.. Can't wait to play it.. I and many of my XBL friends have been waiting a long time for a racinggame like this.. The many cars on screen promise a lot for fun chaotic online MP, lets hope it delivers..

Colin McRae: Dirt = RSC3.. But better (I hope).. :)

Just unbeliveable. Guess the NEON engine is the boy in town when it comes to rendering vehicles in motion. I really hope it will look as good in motion running on my xbox360 in june as it does in these screenshots. Can't wait...

what appears to be somewhat limited online multiplayer support. Rather than let you go head-to-head with other players, DIRT will employ a lobby system that pits groups of up to 100 players against each other simply by comparing their times in hill climb and rally events. You'll be able to see how your current time stacks up against the competition every time you pass through a checkpoint, but while that sounds like fun, it's hardly a substitute for being able to slam opponents into trees or T-bone them on crossover tracks.

That would SUCK bigtime.. I want to be able to race with as many friends as possible online.. If it doesn't have proper online MP, I'll pass (and be very dissapointed for still not having a RSC substitude on the Xbox 360)..

A Xbox 360 racinggame without proper online MP, go figure, who came up with that brilliant idea at Codemasters? @#!@# I really don't get.. I mean, just look at those screenies, they just scream online MP imho!!

Hopefully this is all just a missunderstanding, and it was only the rally online part they were talking about there.. And offroad and buggy races etc will all be online MP..

Nope, 360 is the lead platform. I believe Sony helped get the NEON engine running on the PS3 is all.
Well, how come people are touting in various articles that its for PS3 and built for PS3? When its clearly not.

Just checked the pics on gamespot it does look amazing mutiple cars on the road this time too which usually wasn't the case with colin mcrae games. But if the Sega Rally images are to believed it still looks better. Then again maybe it is just because I was such a big fan of the first Sega rally for the Saturn see for yourself.

I enjoy rally games so I'm definitely picking this one up. Rumble and force feedback should really make this game that much more enjoyable too. I just wish there was a new Rallisport Challenge in development from the Dice guys...Its too bad they're an EA company now so we may never see another Rallisport Challenge. Oh well.
