Codemasters is on fire ! They just released eighteen new images of Colin McRae: Dirt, and the screens really are beautiful. We can't wait to try it and tell you more about it.
I just watched some videos of Colin McRae 2005 for Xbox. even though the graphics are a generation old, the game runs so smooth-- something I really miss when seeing the realtime video of DIRT.
I smell PGR3 photo-mode. Plus the realtime trailer was leaps and bounds uglier than these shots, not to mention the center of gravity being about 1.5 meters underneath the vehicles (esp when they roll in a crash, the chassis rolls around the virtual center of gravity in a very unrealistic manner)
Sigh, I wish Codemasters would just give up already and hand the physics coding to people like the Richard Burns Rally folks. Now THAT is a rally sim, on a lowly PS2 as well FFS (the 3 cores and Cell would provide for loads of physics oomph but Codemasters proves themselves for the umpteenth time with arcade handling).
