No, the maps arent available on the german marketplace.

You need a not-german account to get the map-pack(s).

Haha, is it because of the german game laws that prohibit violent games?

iup. i couldn't buy the game anywhere here (germany) is pretty hypocritical, let me tell you, not even amazon.de (got it from .co.uk). At the same time in the same stores i could buy Call of Duty, a game in which i can kill germans...confess i can't understand this GoW thing, maybe it's sony lobbying eheh

Exactly what I was gonna say. The fact that one team plays as locusts rules out any pre Emergence day scenarios.

Aye, I can't get these maps anyway since I have a German GT, don't even know if I can buy MS Points on my US GT.

Yes, this game is blacklisted in Germany and therefore can not be sold officialy in stores (or advertised for), tho you can still buy it. Politicians recently discussed banning violent games from Germany entierly, but I doubt they'll do it.

But I'm not shedding a tear for these maps since GoW annoys the hell out of me everytime I play it. Latency is incredible and sometimes just unplayable, and the amount of glitches is just the cream on top of the pinacle. I really loved that game, but now I rather play GRAW 2 and wait for the Halo 3 beta to come around the corner, no need to waste another 10 bucks on that.

You could still have maps portraying the actual E-day?

it sounds stupid but you can't use european MS Point Cards wit an US account.

you need US Points for your US account.

I never paid money for extra maps of a Epic game, and don't intend of starting now.. I'll wait until September (if I ever get them, because tbh I don't play a lot of GoW MP anymore).. MS can shove their points up their capitalistic arse..

I'm about 2000 kills away from Seriously but 10 eur, no thanks. They should have called the new maps Bullet Lag, Quitter Garden, Bad Rep Process and Host-way to reflect the feel of the game. And then later also Glitching in the Rain.

I won't be touching this till its free. If epic wanted it to be free then i'm going to get 'em when they're free.

Microsoft need to give the fans a break. I mean we're already paying £40 a year!

*Angry face at MS*

I do not care about the glitches as much as the price.

MS is stiffing everybody with their marketplace. I would not doubt it the rumors are true about MS making publishers and developers charge more for things on the marketplace as they take a % from each item sold.

This is no different then paying 400 for 2 maps in lost planet. You do the math.

Tis true. It's definitely some sorta scam.. just remember that Epic wanted these to be free. 800 points is only a steal for MS.

I may still buy them regardless though. I'm done pretending that my personal distaste / dissension will make any sort of difference. They want the best of both worlds here.. making them free in September is a bit tricky; those would would have purchased it by September will have already.. so it's not like it hurts them much to make it "free."

Well, I'm definately going to buy the map pack. Previous posters maked some good points but, Microsoft greed out or not, I crave extra features, variety and such for the games I like.

You can do a UK account and buy points and buy stuff. I did this for Shivering isles, which misteriously never made it to the German Marketplace  ...

I always thought the same, and this whole Epic v MS issue with these maps proved it if you ask me..

Gameconsoles are now even worse then mobilephones.. At least on mobile phones you can put your own wallpapers or ringtones etc, on gameconsoles you have no choice whatsoever, you either pay or get nothing.. And the most unbelieveable thing is, people think it's 'ok', they'll pay for anything aslong as they want it.. If this continues, we will eventually end up in a world where we have to pay for clean air to breath.. And people will think it's 'ok', because they want the clean air and they can afford it..

Capitalisme at it's best.. Some people have to much money, so don't care to pay for everything, and the ones without money will suffer because they can't get anything.. Sorry if I sound a bit over the top, but this is how I feel about stuff like this.. It's totally unaccetable for me that MS forces Epic to charge for extra maps, just because MS wants to fill their pockets even more, there's no other reason.. And it's not even a real full mappack like those on the PC for UT with lots of maps, no it's just 4 maps!!! Give me a break FFS!!

This whole thing reminds me of a comment an American friend of mine once made when he visted our country.. He was amazed how much touristattractions were free to visit overhere.. In the US they would put a fence arround it and charge for entry he said.. No kidding!?!

*sigh*

It's almost refreshing to hear someone rant about the same issues I've been on about forever now. It is wrong.. and we're all getting burnt. I'm pretty pessimistic about the situation though.. I don't see it getting better anytime soon.

And the worst part is, I really want these maps. Hell, I need to buy them this week if I expect to be able to play with my friends. Lame.

I will say though -- the maps look great! Environmental hazards sound cool.
