Xbox 360

Now that Mass Effect has been released everywhere in Europe and North America we are finally free to do our usual content. So enjoy this first video showing the very beginning of the game, although 100% in French since our version can't be switched to English. Ha well, it still looks great. More tomorrow!
Update: Second video is available, with more coming tomorrow :)
Update 2: Third video online, with a last one tonight.
Update 3: Last video is up, and a 25 minutes one at that! I know it was all in French and I'm sorry about that, but if you still watched this and want to know what happens afterwards, you know what to do. This game is very well worth its price!

i got to be the luckest person ever, i dont notce most of the glitches that ppl complain about, only when it pauses and says laoding and when you get them glitches which pause for awhole second
They dont bother me anyway, they dont happen in important bits and aren't very often...

Loving it so far. Absolutely epic and despite the minor niggles it is a beauty to watch.

They did the same as HL2 and used software to recognise phonemes instead of doing it all by hand or motion capturing it. It makes it all the more impressive in my opinion!
I wonder if that is part of the unreal engine its very good whatever it is

loading screens arent glitches, their obviously intentional since its allways in the same area..the glitches ive found are sometimes your weapon not firing, and being stuck in the geometry...the framerate and texture pop-in i dont consider glitches, but it could have been ironed out ..i get a sense that they arent supporting the HDD at all, because if you have one those textures should load in faster.

i dont get them stuff and ur right the load thing is not a glitch so basically i only see the lag thing where it pauses and that is rare

PS - its like that with all games, Assassins creed is not laggy at all for me, runs perfect, i dont get why ppl say screen tearing ( what is screen tearing ).

what you are talking about that you describe as lag is framerate drops...games usually run at either 30 frames per second, or some 60fps..when it drops enough below the standard framerate it looks like lag...also screen tearing is when you notice what appear to be lines that go down through your image...its difficult to explain how it happens but its more or less a frame is filling into the screen before the other passes, the screen becomes disjointed and it creates a split in the image your seeing.

once i spent like an hour getting past this annoying bit, then once done i went in this lift and pressed pause to sort out all the squad and equiptment options which took a further 20 mins of tweaking and big decisions!

and guess what happend when i un-paused?

i un paused and the lift just wen up with my characters on it, my screen went just black and then the game crashed.
the last autosave was 1 hour and 20 mins earlier at the begginging of the really hard bit!!! god dammit i had to do the whole thing again!!!

but other then that, its been awesome so far!!

no offense but my guess i mostly you don't recognize the technical issues. the framerate fluctuates near constantly (and most reviews have pointed that out), i don't see it being your copy magically doesn't do it. textures sometimes take near half a minute to fully load the entire scene (sometimes leaving things like their armors looking like pre-textured early render models)

but none of these really break the game. framerate never drops to a standstill or anything of that magnitude. Like Xion said, they're just little polish issues that would've been nice if they had ironed them all out. but they don't particularly harm an otherwise awesome game.

i think everything the game does right outweighs whatever technical issues there are.

one of the best games i have played in my whole fucking life. Absolutely amazing. It reminds me of Space 1999 (you´re too young to know it probably but it was an amazing series from the 70´s). Game of the year. Only Bioshock comes closer.

Yeah...I agree with the rest of you guys... This is pretty much the greatest game of all time. Cool. LMAO. DAMN IT'S AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm about 20 or so hours in. It just keeps on blowing my mind. And I already had HUGE expectations for the game, but I never expected this... Mass Effect easily beats Bioshock for Game of the Year. I thought it would be close, but Mass Effect takes it.

The only real issues with the game fall on Epic's lap. Unreal Engine is finished. Bring on id Tech 5.

Wow, you know, if they ever wanted to make a movie out of this game, just record someone's play session and put it on the big screen. :P

AGREE!! Hell, make a whole new franchize out of it!
I would seriously be the happiest scifi nerd in the universe if Mass Effect was to become completely and utterly raped, capitalist style. I dont care!

I want as much Mass Effect as possible, i want soundtrack, i want posters, i want movies, i want more games. GIVE ME MORE! :D
Its seriously the BEST game ive ever played, and im only 15hrs in, and it just keeps growing and growing. Its also the BEST scifi universe/story ive ever expeirenced.

It MUST be made into movies, or a tv-series, or both!
Give me 9 Mass Effect movies a la Star Wars, give me 500 Mass Effect tv-series episodes a la Star Trek. GIVE ME MORE! :)

looking forward
