Dot50cal sent us this nice comparison video of both demos of Devil May Cry 4 on PS3 and 360. Very slight differences indeed, but they exist. The WMV version has been encoded in very high quality.
Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

However I don't see how that should affect texture quality, as from what I understand the textures themselves doesn't require that high bandwidth to store. Or is it so that they require high bandwidth to be rendered just like AA and HDR?
I do believe in what me7 wrote though, amount of avaliable memory should have a larger impact on texture quality than avaliable bandwidth as the textures has to be stored somewhere.
Should be slightly less noticeable in motion rather than screen shots but it's less than optimal for the PS3.

Commented on 2008-01-28 20:56:47Well there's your victory. A bit like scoring one goal in the first half then waiting it out, playing like monkeys.
One of these days the actual games will start to matter, and we'll all feel so lost.
Commented on 2008-01-28 21:06:37The Hairy Nipple effect innit.
Whats sad here is that people are claiming that one is vastly better, when in actual fact that is what they are telling themselves to believe.
I can barely see a difference between the two, even when zooming in on the images, there are a few occasions the 360 version has slightly better textures, but its so minor its not worth mentioning.....
or perhaps it is *sighs*

Well, lets just say things got ugly and you clearly noticed his inactivity for a while. However, it does warm my heart seeing him posting again. Looks like he has almost made a full recovery!

I'd definitely take that blurring AA over no AA any day.

Commented on 2008-01-29 15:32:33Both looks great. There are parts were it needs alot of textures were PS3 lacks of, but there are also places were there is TOO much textures that it needs to be reduce were PS3 is good at to keep it low.
Both looks identical for sure, the only thing I notice is the textures.
360 has simple a bit better than PS3 simple as that.
But like I said, there are places were they need to take away much of the textures so it looks more natural than put it bunch of it...so that part fails a bit.
Now to the controls...I am sorry but I prefer DualShock controller.
It felt light, easy to get the hang of it, the buttons are perfectly layed out close to eachother to quickly press the buttons that is needed.
The 360 was too big and the buttons are too seperated for such a game.
The bumper on 360 is very qwierd and seperated compared to the PS3 version.
Final decision...if you want graphics to be a BIT better, go with the 360, if you want good controls but yet look good enough to go "wow" then go with PS3.
Graphics are identical anyway, there are places that it was like I had 2 consoles of each and I was comparing same game on the same console :P
One thing I did not like about the 360 version about it's graphics was the color, it was sharp and all yes, good. But it looked strange, compared to the PS3 version. It looked I don't too much of a mess that you can hardly see the details.
For example look at the health gaude and Neros sword power, I prefer the PS3 version because it looks clean and clear to look at, while the 360 has too much details that the rest of the design looks like a mess.
Anyway, that was my view on the game, atleast I know what version to buy anyway.
Now that my friend comes over we both can play the DMC4 demo and compete who ends the timer demo and beats Berial fastest :D

Commented on 2008-01-29 15:59:06 In reply to IsomacBut in all seriousness, I just prefer the DuaclShock controller for these type games. These type of games are fast and all, and I would like all the buttons to be close to eachother for fast movements and big ass combos...if lucky :P
After NG Sigma on PS3, I prefer that, same goes with DMC4.
So I have to make a way to learn to fight with the 360 controller considering NG2 is for 360 :P
PS. The Berial scene, both versions looked great, but obviously for textures and a bit more details, 360 takes the cake, but the colors...no, I didn't like it that much.
Ah well, comparisons, brings people closer :P

Commented on 2008-01-29 18:57:33 In reply to GriftGFXSomehow this reminded me about that I played PC version of Metal Gear Solid 2 with pad without analog sticks. Good thing that d-pad didn't suck :P
Don't want to start anymore controller wars but in some hack and slash games (Diablo) keyboard & mouse actually are the ultimate controller :D
Commented on 2008-01-29 19:06:17But believe me...with NG2 soon coming out, once I play it for 5-10 minutes, I will get the hang of it, and it will feel natural for me to play with a control like that.

Commented on 2008-02-02 20:33:47So now back too DMC4. The game looks excellent on both platforms, the only difference is the NOLOADING TIMES and 60FPS in the PS3 version. Why buy the 360 version, because the graphics are better? Maybe if you pause every second of the game and use a microscoop but i deffinitly didnt notice any difference. Just get a life and stop bashing the PS3.. Im enjoying the systeem since march and played Bioshock on PC and played GOW and H3 over by friends and not feeling any need to buy the systeem. The PS3 has so much to offer and just look at the 08 lineup OMG!!!
Commented on 2008-02-02 20:40:54So I have heard that Trophy Bass 4 takes 1.7% of GBC full system power. I heard that the same game uses all of the 360 power. 360 is as good as dead now...
Commented on 2008-02-02 22:57:51 In reply to DarkShoudAs for the rest of your post...ugh...can't be bothered really...
Commented on 2008-02-03 09:54:32 In reply to DarkShoudI only have a 360... good enough for me.
But I've been dying to play this series, glad it finally came to a system I own :D
BTW you might want to download firefox. It has a built-in spellcheck.
