Developer 2K Czech doesn't seem to be bothered by the soon-to-be-released Grand Theft Auto IV, confident that its Mafia 2 will be able to satisfy a large pool of players. Judging from all the images released so far, they are right of not being shy because it clearly is remarquabe, stylish, well made.

Hopefully they fixed the car handling. Hated it in Mafia.

it was fine in the pc version! Console version sucked in general :P

Because the talk of the new systems being used in GTAIV went on for a long time and I've heard nothing from the Mafia 2 people about how the game will innovate at all. That's really what it's about. Perhaps they'll start talking about it soon.
I actually agree with everything you've said. I really hope that it won't be just a prettier Mafia 1, but who knows, maybe it will. I'm rooting for them though, I hope they don't dissapoint.

No, they didn't. They were a pain in the ass to drive and one of the weakest points of the game. Drive bys were probably the worst aspect of it.

Yeah but they were old^^

Loved the first part for it's great story, interesting charakters and awesome atmosphere.

Screenshot 3 = win. It's near photo-realism. (If you'd ask my opinion)

I remember someone saying that this is impossible on the consoles. Screw the one who said that. This'll rock! As much as GTAIV!

It'd ruin the game if it doesn't look as good as this on the consoles. This is how the game should look, so if it's impossible: they'll think of something else.

True graphics only get you so far, but Mafia had the gameplay to back it up as well, so long as you played the PC version and not the console one of course.

Imo: GTA and never had such a fantastic story like Mafia because it was much more focused on free play. You can have a good sandbox game, but you can't have a good sandbox game that has as good story as more linear game, like Mafia 1.
