anyway this is the only game where i can tolarate Ureal engine. it certainly isn't a killzone 2 but still up to date with current games on the market
I certainly don't think KZ2 looks any better than this based on the footage I've seen of both. And as far as console games go, I'd say this is a little more than up-to-date. The first Gears is still up-to-date in my opinion.

Just want to clear some things out to WinterSnowBlind. I actually think the campaign of the Halo francise was always very average, I enjoyed the campaign of Resistance more than Halo's, but that doesnt mean everyone should, right? Also Halo never had such crazy weapons as Resistance had, after the release of Resistance, with the launch of Halo 3 they had some new shit like the mines and stuff, but still resistance felt very different than Halo.
Also about Haze and desperation :P I meant the games coming in 2 months, after the summer i can list a whole bunch of other PS3 exclusives. Either way its just a matter of taste. I dont like RTS, so Halo Wars is nothing for me, Ninja Gaiden is missing somewhat of a cool origonal style and is probally still coming to the PS3 just like the first did, also listing games like Banzoo and DOA5 is somewhat said, because we know so little about those titles, for that reason i can list games like, god of war 3, ico 3, Heavenly sword 2, ucnharted 2, heavy rain, eight days, Final Fantasy Versus XIII etc. Cool right?
About Uncharted, yes it looks fantastic, better than Gears imo, much richer details and effects. The lighting, the characters, animation etc etc are all a level higher than gears.
And i didnt praise Killzone, i was defending it, because it wasnt as bad as some people are saying here, it was a good game and for the time i didnt saw it as mediocore. It was an intense war shooter with much variaty and stuff. If you want to call Killzone and Resistance average thats youre call, strangely enough I enjoyed them more than Halo's campaign.

Finallllyyyyyy - an impartial, logical post with a bit of common sense thrown in for good measure.
Instead of comparing it to other games, which only appears to promote fan boy rants and arguments, how about we compare it to Gears 1.
As you can see, this is an improvement over Gears 1 in visuals and gameplay from what has been seen so far. There is so much more to come as well. This is 2 minutes of gameplay - the game will amount to more than just the 2 minutes. Previews have already said that there is more to come from this game in terms of the visuals and the gameplay mechanics. The improvements however are still evident, even from this short glimpse.
So, let's just appreciate this short video for what it is - A short bloody video. It's just a glimpse of what's to come, so you can't judge the whole game just on this seeing as it doesn't come out for blimmin' months. Do people forget that this is a pre-alpha build? Clearly.

I've got a 360 and ps3. Just beat resistance. It is very good but not as good as Halo. The textures on Resistance look very bad. Some of the vehicles in the levels have hardly any detail. The colour is bland as hell. Things in the environmets were very bland. But the game was fun as hell! Guerilla has not made a good game yet. This is their last chance because their is so much hype for kz2. If you read about some people that actually played kz2 the said the textures don't look that great.KZ2 will live or die on gameplay. There is a comparison video of gow1 & gow2. Pretty big difference 2 me.

360 has as many exclusives from now till end of the year as Ps3 has. You prefer the ps3 ones? Good for you m8... but please dont try to downgrade the 360 exclusives cause you dont fckin like NG2 and you do like the crap that in my opinion is Haze.

The amount of pixel shading is insane and their new lighting engine help alot to bring out the texture detail this time.
It seems that the usage of Xenos specialized hardware is getting more and more mature and the results are already obvious.
The good thing is that in exclusive 360 games like this and SC:Conviction, developers don't need to worry about their game looking inferior in the other platform and they exploit all the power of the console. This has as a result, the most mature exclusive games of xbox360 to have the best graphics of this generation ( GeOW, SC:C, Alan Wake etc)

Well, as the first piece of gameplay I was expecting something a bit more impressive.
I remember when I saw the first piece of gameplay for the original Gears of War (which looked pretty different from the actual game) and I was blown away. Obviously I wasn't going to be blown away by a sequel running on the same engine. But, I do wish they'd presented something a bit more surprising.
Still though, considering GOW was beautiful, they can't really go that wrong by producing something similar but better. And there's no denying that this is very similar.
I think the fans should be very pleased that it has improvements and new gameplay elements (I'm in this camp) and the PS3 fanboys should be very pleased that they can ignore the subtle differences and call this GOW1.5. I fully expect the term GOW1.5 to take off, and I hereby claim ownership. Not that I believe in it, I just think it's an obvious cheap shot.

Cool that you guys already know Haze is going to be crappy without having played the full game, i have faith in Haze because its developed bij Free Radical (timsplitters).
Also about that strange comment about Heavenly Sword and Ninja Gaiden, yes i do like the setting of HS more, so what? Its just a matter of taste. NG is cool and all, its just the style that doesnt atract me.
And guys tjeez im not downgrading 360 games, just giving my opinion. Games like Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 are looking very cool, GOW2 is just not as great as some people here are saying (especially graphic whise), but then again thats mine opinion. And dont say PS3 fans started this discussion because you guys clearly started with saying this looks better than Killzone 2 (wich it clearly isnt imo). :S

Wow, I just realised something. Why is everyone having arguments about graphics? Graphics don't make a game - it's much more than that.
I think, if we're being honest, Killzone 2 looks better than Gears of War 2. That is not saying that Gears of War 2 isn't visually brilliant, but Killzone 2 does look good.
However. Killzone 2 looked boring as hell in the videos. Honestly, i'm not even saying that because it's PS3 exclusive. If it was on the 360, i'd be saying the exact same thing. Even if they didn't show the cover system like someone said previously on the post, I don't care - it still looked unoriginal and offered nothing that me go 'woooooaaa'. Visually - great, gameplay-wise - boring.
Therefore, people can come on here and say how great Killzone 2 looks as well as other PS3 games and have a bash at Gears 2 for not making 'significant improvements'. At the end of the day, Gears 2 looks to contain everything that fans of the game have ever wanted.
Like others I can't wait till November when i'll be getting Gears of War 2, not 1.5.

Be assured that if GoW2 did not look that great all PS3 fans would not be afraid and coming here to yell "KZ2 is better KZ2 is better !" =)
I hope this Gow2 will be a bit longer than the first one, which was really really good in coop but too short, it's like a good film, you don't want it to end, it's always too short. Remember that it should be at least 6-7hours long, and we've seen only 2 intense minutes, the best is yet to come, you can be sure that what is shown here is not the most impressive moment that will be in the final game.

Let's see if Gears of War 2 can run a 8 player online co-op with a full seperated campaign from the Nathan Hale campaign or with 60 players online multiplayer, like Resistance 2.
I liked Resistance much more than Gears of War atleast I had much more fun, because how much of the weapons was fun to use and how "busy" the environments was and fights it felt intense.
Am I a PS3 fanboy now for saying I liked Resistance more than Gears of War even though I own both consoles and I am happy with them?

Don't get me wrong, I thought Gears of War was very good and all, but after the 2nd or 3rd time I lost interest in it very quickly, the only reason why I continued to play it was because my friends wanted help to find all the COG tags for the achievements.
While I played Resistance more than more through the campaign and hours into the MP, and it didn't bore me.
I am out of this thread, because it is going nowhere.
Final word...I can't wait for ALL the games on my list for both PS3 and 360 in 2008 it is gonna be great (starting with NG2 and MGS4 next month), just enjoy the games that are coming and have fun.
