Most of them are taken from the videoc, so they're not really bullshots. Besides, I don't see anything there that can't really be done (apart from some optimisations).

That picture reminded me of the first time in GOW1 when you first see all the imullsion in the underground caves that bit gave me goosebumps!
As for Bullshots the top bunch of screens are in-game, the bottom bunch not so sure, i'm reading all the handson from the MAIN gaming websites and they all say in this latest build the visuals are much better, along with how splendid the hands-on was.
As for the GOW3 on the 720, just imagin UE4 + GOW3 + 720!!!
When I first saw the predator like locust, I thought he actually had alien dread locks like the "Predator", but it turns out he's wearing some sort of head garment with flailing shurikens. The devs only added a little more color this time around but there's no denying the games incredible visuals. Looks like my pockets will be drained this fall. Fable 2, Silent Hill Homecoming, Bango Kazooie,
Gears of War 2, Fall Out 3, Far Cry 2, Call of Duty 5, Mirrors Edge, and a few others are on my list.
I'm not impressed, and I'm not trying to troll either. The graphics are indeed excellent, but I got incredibly bored of the art direction in the first game, and this just looks like more of the same to me. Hopefully the single player game will be longer than 6 hours this time.
Awesome art as usual but it's really too bad that the reality of in game Unreal Engine 3 tech is zero anti-aliasing and textures which stream in too late.
Ultimately, while Gears of War 2 tinkers little with the original's formula, it pushes every part of the original package to even more epic realms. A blockbuster in every sense of the word, it's undoubtedly the biggest and boldest game coming to the Xbox 360 this winter
The game won't look that good, just like the original looked nowhere near as good as the "screenshots" they were showing for it. Still though the flamethrower looks great fun (although probably a bad-rep magnet when used online) and the predator-style enemy is pretty cool.
The style of Gears 2 looks way better than Gears 1 IMO. More natural coloring & lighting (even though I still see some 'UE3' bad lighting in a few shots). I didn't like how Gears 1 played or looked, but this one has gotten me interested, think it might be better.
I think these are just AA/image quality bullshots. The lighting & textures aren't miles above what is possible on any computer today like those first GoW1 shots.
There's still time for a GoW3 on 360. The next Xbox shouldn't be coming out that soon...
It's the sheer level of detailing that first strikes the eye. Visually, it looks like it's a real-time graphic illustration come to life. It looks stunning. However, I'm not a great fan of the UE3. It is not the be all and end all of current gen engines and devs are probably a bit too overly reliant on it. I personally believe that it's stifling the true potential of current hardware. How UE3 generates texture mapping and it's post effects in relation like parrellex and occlusion mapping is something that I just hate about it. Up close certain textures just seem to turn into a mess of what looks like a craquelure filter used in Photoshop gone amok. Also, it seems to struggle with vast landscapes and texture loading no matter what game is using the engine. No more apparent than in Mass Effect. However, these are minor gripes. The game is a showcase of just what an absolute beast the 360 really is.

What are you talking about the original looked as good as the screenshots before release. (Unless your playing on a shitty SD TV)

Yes true, but you most also then accept that the UE3 has been envolving constantly and getting better as an engine and ironing out allot of bugs, you have mentioned.
Again, people keep looking at Old Unreal 3 games not even made by Epic, the creators of the engine and the people who would know how to use it best. Everyone should just look at the screens and video and stfu about the UE3. Seriously. Forgive my rudeness

Joking apart, when has Gears ever been about a deep story? It's about a blockbuster experience - something I believe you can't experience in any other game. The campaign in Gears 1, in my opinion, was actually brilliant. I obviously haven't counted how many times I have played through it, but it's been at least 15 times. The game is just so damn cool on so many levels.
Gears of War 2 will expand on everything that made the first one so awesome, which is why I think it will be my personal GOTY.
