If you could choose the design of humans, what would we be like?

Id give us, a brain that uses 80% of it self. Save 20% just incase, more arms say 4 to 6, bigger/muscle legs, bigger feet to go with the legs, eyes that see further or just better atleast, and a tail for balance. All for performance reasons.

Physically i wouldn't want to change too much, i think. No new extremities or anything. We're pretty good the way we are. Well suited for life on earth and in general. I guess what i'd want to change is the way the body works to fit it more to todays lifestyle so that we'd be rid of problems like obesity and heart disease. Also i guess id want to improve the capacity of the brain, to make us all smarter and as such build for a better future in general. I guess the brain thing is the easiest to fix or at least approach; make sure people get good educations.

I wasn't aware brain function capacity had to do with how humans look.

You say that it'd all be for performance reasons, but what exactly did you have in mind? What is it that we'd be performing that'd require 6 arms, more muscular legs, and a tail?

Hope you can sleep better now. Changed just for you. And with my design we'd perform better. But now thinking about it how would we sit down... We'd have to have flexable smallish/medium type tails. Before i was thinking dinosaur size/type tails.

Again, WHAT are we performing better? I mean, it sounds like your new humans would be shitty gymnasts. You can't just say that performance in general would be better; that's pretty much spitting on the whole form/function idea.

I can think of multiple examples of blondes who are hot and smart. Okay, maybe Marina from hotforwords isn't a real blonde, and maybe she's not really smart, but she pretends she is.. so that's good enough for me!

Who said anything about an essay? I simply wanted clarification. If you didn't think through your modifications before blurting them out, and that's making it hard for you to give me the supposedly "obvious" answer, then just say so.

which is obvious. We would perform better in general, than are hardly used brain, are not so good normal human vision, big muscle legs and feet, would run faster than are normal legs. (Arnold Swarzenegger would be ok, well not so much now) And six arms are better than two. And with are new brains it'd be a doddle. We could multi task big time. To go with the hectic 21st century lifestyle. And i through in a tail for better balance. So all for performance reasons.

I think your lack of any kind of biology background is probably what's making this frustrating for me.

Your choices seem almost arbitrary. Bigger, more muscular legs? Well shit, why not just make us more muscular all over? Or if speed is what you want, give us ostrich legs or something. If six arms are better than two, then surely eight would be better than six, right? "Better" eyes(better how...resolution, night vision, colour, motion?) would be great, but wouldn't eyes all around our head giving us 360 degree vision be even more beneficial? They should shoot lasers too as this would help us perform better (at...you know...shooting lasers...).

You really don't seem to get that you can't just say "X" will make you perform better when there's no frame of reference as to what is being performed.

Example: "People should have duck feet...they will perform better."

That's a ridiculous statement. We'd perform better at swimming, but how the hell am I supposed to know that's what the sentence means? If I looked at it and thought it was talking about running, the sentence would be incorrect.

So yeah, what you said would have benefited from having an explanation, and while you are correct in saying that you have no obligation to explain anything, it would have been easier for you to do so instead of just being a dick.

This thread sucks.
