2006-04-18 20:40:14 Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Revealed Also in the new issue of Game Informer magazine comes the first info on Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, the upcoming later super hero themed game from Raven Software and Activision. This game will feature a ton of Marvel super heroes going up against Dr. Doom and a legion of Marvel super villians. The article states that the game will be more action oriented than Raven's previous X-Men Legends titles. The game will be released this fall for the PC, PS2, and Xbox but will also be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 with highly updated graphics. A PSP version, developed by Vicarious Visions, is also in the works. --- |

2006-04-18 21:57:26 Nah they have the marvel rights altogether from what I understand, but games already in development microsoft isn't stopping from going ahead (it would make no sense for them to do that) --- |

2006-04-19 04:18:34 Sounds cool regardless. Just hope they don't mean "X-Men: Last Stand" updated graphics :-/. --- |

2006-04-19 20:25:48 Loved X-Men: Legends, can't wait for this..Legends + Online Co-op?? mmm...hell yeah! And uhm, no, I don't think MS holds universal rights for Marvel--that would be insane..I'm quite sure we'll see more Marvel games from EA and Activision in the future as well..could be wrong, but I doubt MS holds total control over the liscence..it would be pretty pointless for Marvel to make that sort of deal when so many people want to make games for them...do you really expect MS to start pumping successful Marvel games out at the rate that Activision does? I think MS is more interested in strong original IP's..atleast I hope they are. |

2006-10-08 21:41:03 Btw, seems the PS3 version has nicer shaders and some complaining about the 360. --- |

2006-10-08 21:47:30 Jeez is this even news? I've played Wii and 360 versions already! (albeit only for a limited time!) If I'd have realised, I'd have posted some impressions :) |

2006-10-08 22:31:35 In reply to hasanahmad (2006-10-08 21:42:54) Posted by hasanahmad no the PS3 version has the same effect Shadowrun has (you know the blurred effect when porting). it can even be done on Xbox and Gamecube. But PS3 version has framerate issues while 360 and Wii are stable But who cares when they're basically both just polished ports? Still can't wait to play it--from what I hear there's no voice communication in the PS3 version--once again, this is a bigger deal than any graphical difference, imo. Though I hear the Wii version may actually have the upper hand when it comes to control... |

2006-10-08 22:44:01 "Graphically, the PlayStation 3 version looked the best of the three and sported some interesting distortion and blur effects that were absent from the Xbox 360 and Wii versions. Powerful attacks on the PS3 caused ripples of invisible energy to distort the area around the attack momentarily. When asked why this was absent from the 360 version, a developer told us that it was due to the PS3’s ability to handle shaders differently than what can be done on the 360 or Wii. Both the 360 and PS3 versions made use of impressive lighting techniques, particle effects, hi-res textures, and impressive character models while the Wii looks to be a mild step up from the current-gen efforts; though that is certainly to be expected at this point. Also, the PlayStation 3 version of the game was shown running in 1080p, which looked absolutely incredible and sharp while the Xbox 360 was running at a respectable 720p and the Wii version running at 480p. All three versions supported 16:9 widescreen modes." They don't say faster or whatnot, but it does seem it is more compatible with their design and could do more than on the 360. I agree with grift though: An Xbox port... who cares? More concerned about what next gen game devs say like Starbreeze. --- |

At this stage of development the Wii and 360 versions held a steadier framerate than what was being shown on the PS3, but they are a bit farther along. The Wii and 360 versions were playing off of their test kits while the PS3 was still running on a development kit. Also with the PS3 version running in 1080p it was pushing the engine a bit harder. By release we were told to expect each version to be running at a stable framerate. --- |
