That looks amazing! Fingers crossed that this is like Sonic Adventure on the DC XD.

He can run onto walls Shinobi-style, grab onto nearby eagles for transportation...
o.O kewl.

The second video shows some cool physics when he breaks the wall's apart..

It doesn't seem to look so crazy fast as the other games, which is a good thing cause you didn't have much control over sonic at high speeds.

You think this looks amazing? It looks noticably worse than last year's target renders, and they weren't too hot either. Especially the low res textures are awful. Can't say I'm impressed.

Doesn't look better to me. Basically we are expecting a bit too much from games that aren't striving for photorealistic. David Jaffe was right it isn't straight up graphics that makes a game look impressive its about all the little things that add to the overall experience. Take for example when a dev was making a ps2 game or a xbox game imagine if he had just a little bit more power? What if he was given exactly half of the ps3's or 360's power to complete his xbox or ps2 game that game would be a masterpiece.

Basicallly upgraded graphics are good, but developers should use the extra power wisely and not just try to bank off a higher polygon model or a more crisp character model. Hell its why i think ghost recon is such a success. The devs didn't overlook what was most important.

Putting alot more care into the look of that smoke and that picture would've looked better up top. They really did seem to drop the ball with textures here its like they not putting any work into their defining franchise.

Caught myself not practicing what I preach. I wont judge this game via a screenshot because it will most likely look alot better when being played on the actual console.

The videos look alot better than the screens and they are like a year old. Plus they are trying to keep a decent framerate going too.

I wonder if they'll put Chaos in again...

It doesn't look Gears of War-ish, so I like it.

I love this part of the article:

It's all a little cryptic at this point, honestly, but Sonic has, no doubt, got to rescue the princess, fight this new punk hedgehog, defeat Eggman (like always), and set the record straight on who the bad-assiest hedgehog in town really is. We all know it, but in a world of super-hero hedgehogs and all-powerful emeralds and techno-savvy fat men, well, things just work a little differently in that universe. You just have to go with the flow.
Can't wait to play this game :)

You say we're getting there? Oh, fine.

What's up?
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer oh yea that, Dragon Age was preloading at the time (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Maybe.. it's different for pre-loaded stuff too. (4 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (4 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (4 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (4 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (4 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (4 Hours ago)
