Is this happening to anyone else? I tried downloading some trailers from Live and as soon as it starts downloading it tells me "connection lost, etc etc"

Anyways, about TDU, that I was able to download. The game dissapointed me to be honest. The major problem I found with the game were the rudimentary physics engine for the cars. It's not fun to drive those amazing cars with such poor physics. The island is extremely huge, I can't complain on that. The graphics are more than dissapointing. Seriously, anyone who has PGR3 can not be impressed by this, even when the game is constantly streaming the huge island.

The reflections are off, way off. The interiors are alright but the shadowing is nothing to be impressed of. Did anyone else notice how the side view mirrors don't even reflect anything, fuck that! And by the way, PGR3 while it doesn't render that huge of a place it does render HUGE places such as the complete Nurburgrin and everytime you race on any city, the whole city is rendered, still TDU wins by a long shot, but since PGR3 does so many other things better, absolutely much better, I'm having a hard time thinking that's the best the game could have looked. The foliage is poor, the motion blur is more annoying than cool as you have to be COMPLETELY STOPPED before things to the side start looking sharper.

I also thought they had done a good job with the GPS, but actually no, they didn't. The only way to find the dealers was to go looking around like crazy and since this island is so much alike everywhere, I only found 1 dealer out of a supposed 3.

What else........oh yeah, the police are there, but why the heck are they there? Again, this is more of annoyance than a cool thing to include in the game. It's not like persuits are as exciting as Need for Speed anyways so.

My major problem were the physics. I wasn't expecting sim style physics, but I was expecting something at least in the PGR3 level. Oh and I almost forget, the sound is really bad as I had noticed from previous videos. The sound of the tires peeling out is just.......NO. And the sounds of the cars are WAY off although they do try to make them sound cool, like the Lotus for example.

As for the demo content itself it is a pretty decent demo, actually no, it isn't. It would have been a great demo if it weren't for that stupid timer. Who's freaking idea was this? In fact, demos that quit themselves to dashboard after playing are down right retarded. The player will get back to it anyways, so why don't they make life easier and don't put any stupid timers or exit the demo completely.

So I guess MotoGP it is........unless it also dissapoints.

Yeah, I don't have a big problem with not downloading trailers, but I did want to have them all in my 360 for some time. Anyways, I'll try again if not, I'll download from good Xboxyde :D

What? Lost Planet was supposed to be out tomorrow not today if I'm correct.

Also lebato did you happen to read that little message at the beginning of the demo where they clearly stated this demo you will play is merely a work in progress version and not a reflection of the final product? :P

They need to start putting that message up on ALL demos in big gigantic bold letters that cover your entire screen and have it stay there for 15 seconds without being able to skip it so they can be reassured people see it.


EDIT :: Yep VERY similar to the blue dragon situation except they completely cut off all access to it before anyone could manage to download it. It appears some people managed to get the full lost planet before it was removed?

It WAS in the featured downloads section. Good that people are starting to experience this finally because some people thought it was absolutely impossible that Microsoft would pull demos off the marketplace after they were put up there.

Of course and did and only a stupid person would believe the game is going to improve at all. Physics are some of the things they do from the start, they won't leave it for last. In fact, with the time left they have, they only will work on glitches, graphics, and a few other things. Are you willing to bet those things I said WON'T change for the final version? I'm remembering you said the exact same thing for Full Auto.......

As for the downloads, when I go to download a trailer, when I'm in the "confirm download" screen, at the very top it says E3 2006 but before that, there's an image of a lock, why do you think is that, does it have anything to do with the problem?

Please, Full Auto much better than its demo? Why is that everything negative from previews echoed to reviews, it was the same mess of a game.

More than one person saw blue dragon I'm not the only one :) it was being talked about on other sites, just because you are one of many that didn't see it (just like many now that aren't seeing lost planet including myself) doesn't mean it wasn't there.

Lebato I also remember you and many others being completely wrong about ghost recon as well so it goes both ways :) I can go back and pick out things I was right about as well. I was wrong about full auto and I admitted to it, but when I was right about ghost recon in a big way people tried to deny what they said about it............... *OMG LOW RES TEXTURES* *looks horrible the game wont change thats how the game will look* Then some gameplay footage shows *I KNEW IT ALL ALONG*

I was not wrong about Ghost Recon, simply because I never said negative things about it. I remember saying something about the textures and then someone quickly answered they were using low res textures for this build, I believed and it was true. I never actually bashed the game. In fact, I did little hype for Ghost Recon, i was more in the "whatever, i'll just wait" state. But if it makes you feel better.......

About the downloads. Now I'm not even able to sign into Xbox Live, MS should have known better.

From the video's we saw last week it appeared to be an almost outrun goofy arcade style MMO racer which didn't try to take itself to seriously.

I doubt it will improve much like you say, it would be a bad idea for them to release a demo version if it didn't reflect the final version in some way.you had a hunch which turned out right you mean .. ;)

This is the funny thing Optimus is the only person i have heard who has had this experience...

Lebato: The physics could probably be tweaked in about twenty minutes , if they are decent enough developers and have organised it properly. There is only supposed to be one dealership aswell, the Lamborghini one.
