Famitsu is the same publication that gave dynasty warriors a higher score than both halo 2 and ninja gaiden. I'm not surprised in the slightest.

i was ashamed i even parted money for that game....it only lasted 5 mins in my ps2 and it never went in again

Yup Famitsu reviews sucks big time, even here in japan.
No one believe its review but everyone care about its scores, since these scores affect stocks of retailers and preorders from casual gamers.

if the famitsu reviews mattered at all, they'd have all rushed out to get DOA4 and GRAW, but wait, they didn't :)

the fact that it got an 8 from one guy means there's hope, and there's a good chance some of it may get brushed up before it reaches the US, but let's be honest, Cavia isn't known for high rating games. this is the company that did RE: Dead Aim and Beat Down: Fists of Vengence.

My brain hurts. You guys are implying that because a shite game gets good scores, games that get bad scores are actually better than what they're made out to be?

At the end of the day I must say I still trust Famitsu more than most publications. When they review western games I don't even pay attention because I suppose they figure "okay, I'm a gangster shooting a guy in the face... I assume this is good over there."

Yeah, this turned into a bizzare thread--the Famitsu hate I can partially understand, but are we defending Bulletwitch--which is probably worse then True Crime 2 or whatever? So Bullet Witch got a bad score--from a bad mag...but just because they said it sucks, doesn't mean that it doesn't.

That's nice that you know how to pick out the useful info from the useless, but not everyone can. I have been left scratching my head wondering about their consistency in scoring regarding the games that I played myself and trying to figure out what the hell the reviewers were thinking..

Anyways, I don't see any reason to defend Famitsu nor accuse anyone of IMPLYING Bullet Witch is good.It's very possible that the game was designed with a western market in mind and hence not appeal very much to the Japanese, hence the low score. Then again, maybe it plain sucks. We'll probably see more comprehensible scoring if and when the 360 becomes more established in Japan.

Optimus.. Let me give you a hypothetical situation.. Blue Dragon finally comes out and it sucks something awful. It gets nothing but horrible reviews from everyone and becomes known as the worst game ever..... Would you still buy it?
