Well bought this game immediatly and i've been having fun with it all afternoon,
there's one big failure but it isn't in the game;

It's the superbly crappy d-pad ... it kinda makes me pissed i have to play with the analog stick because i can pull off the moves a bit easier with that than with the d-pad because the thing is really sturdy and the reaction time and flow of the d-pad seems to be weird

Ofcourse i ain't telling you guys anything new here since it showed in other games that the d-pad was crappy but i felt it sucked big time with SF2....

I knew the D-pad would be hopeless in this game.. :(

As good as it is the 360 pad isn't a good SF controller--even if the dpad didn't suck it would still be a crappy SF controller.

I recommend the Hori stick for DOA--not perfect but a big improvement over the pad.

I read somewhere about some kind of slider attachment or what not for the 360's gamepad Dpad? Any chance of an arcade stick to ease your suffering?

Seems 100% perfect for me although it took some getting use to pulled off my special moves with ryu everytime I tried em so far.

Quickly played a ranked match to see how things would be (there was slight lag) but I still pretty much destroyed the guy. Tried to invite roxwell to game for a challenge, but it somehow wouldn't work but now that the games out we'll meet on the battlefield eventually :D

The 360 d-pad is the controller's only fault, and if you are really bothered by it, you can make more room for the d-pad by using some sandpaper to the sides of the pad (that's what causes the problem). Of course, that means taking the controller apart, and some people are scared to do that.

I will hadukin anybodys ass and yoga flame anyone or whatever Mister Indian man says. Yeah the 360 control overall is not good for 2d classic fighting game or any new fighting games.

Wooooah there..now I want to play you in MvC2 so I can make sure that statement is 100% false. Are you a top teir whore--sticking with the likes of Cable, Magneto and Sentinal? Or do you mix it up with a fair range of mid-level characters and do rather well with them against scrubs? 'cause there is a big difference! Personally I find the game more fun NOT played on a high level..it limits the roster far too much..(plus, I'm *not* the best MvC2 player in the world..I'm just a natural when it comes to 1v1 combat, or in this case, 3v3)

I'd love to own some of ya'll at a classic game of SF2, but I'm not picking it up quite yet--I already own like 20 other versions of the game..I'll be grabbing it but to be honest things are sorta tight around here this week and I'm outa MS currency.

Hell, you live in NYC, Op--Just go to Chinatown Fair and go get your ass handed to you..it should be fairly easy to find someone better. :P

PS. Yes the heat in NYC is damn unbearable at the moment--thank god for AC.

My team is magneto and cable. I personally view cable as the best in the game ;) The way I play with magneto and cable nobody ever gets the chance to advance past half screen on me they always get kept at bay until when I feel like going in.


I only use those 2. When I want to toy with people I'll use a ryu ken combination. Basically I'm the type of player that combos a guy into the air then as your fall back in mid air animation begins I do ryu's super move. Its pretty much impossible to stop if I land the first hit of the combo.

I mean I've played just about anyone out there that have been said to be good even went to some big E3 type events (not as big as E3, but just as nice) and challenged some people there that were suppose to be champions elsewhere and I destroyed them pretty badly they never got a chance to get going.

I've played MANY amazing players, but I'll admit majority of the people I'd play against daily would be average at best players so they wouldn't do too well, but when that better player came around I always won.

You should go to Chinatown fair (8 Mott St)..if you're really that good that's the only place you're going to get serious competition in that game (well, in the area)..unfortunately. We definitly need an online version.

I'm not that great at MvC2 but I enjoy it..I'm relatively compeditive in most of the fighting games I play--some more then others. SF3 is easily my favorite SF game..I'm pretty fond of Capcom vs SNK 2 too.

I'm a big fan of SNK's fighters in general, but I've always been more into SF.

Same remember that street fighter alpha ex series or something the ones in 3D. They should go back to those A LOT of potential in the next gen for a streetfighter game like that.

I had marvel vs capcom (an online version for the pc) I'm trying to remember the name of the damn thing... I believe it was called winkawaks or something like that. You could get all these old arcade games and play multiplayer with them.

Holy lag batman I just lost 3 times in a row all 3 of the people I played were absolutely terrible all of em using blanka massive lag I could barely do anything such a joke :/

I hope this was just a bad day regarding lag holy crap. First game I played I had zero lag and totally whipped up on the guy my record now stands at a pitiful 1-3 :/

Is the single player harder than the original or do I just really suck now?
I used to be able to blow through this game but now Sagat kicks my ass every time, even on the easiest difficulty setting. Where the fuck have my skills gone :(

I found the single player pretty tough, if you wana feel good about your skill ask Roxwell for a couple matches :P..

Does the DOA4 arcade pad work with SF2? I tried the trial with the D-pad, hated it. My friend has the pad, so we might try that.
