One thread to rule them all, and all that. Hopefully we can keep things related to the game in here from now on.

I dunno how long the site's been around, but there's one http://sonic.sega.jp/sonic/ <- here, that drops some pretty exciting hints.

Town/Action stages setup smells of SA1 goodness, and on the character screen I spot Blaze The Cat, whom I always quite fancied to be truthful. Her involvement confirms that the Sol Emeralds and Soleanna are connected, and it also suggests that multiple dimensions are involved. This in turn explains why Silver refers to Sonic as the Iblis Trigger, and I'll go out on a limb and say I think Shadow's origin could play a part in that too, giving some much needed reason for his inclusion beyond "he's cool as fuck". Which he obviously is, of course.

I must say, the fact that Blaze is in it has me pretty excited about the story, because I really liked the ideas thrown around at the end of Rush.

Well hopefully it plays like SA1, from what i have seen on this game i have been left more than a bit disappointed.

As long as it has a decent story and decent objectives then i will probably like it.

That music is familar, like from some anime or something.

Well, as long as the vehicle bits with Shadow play well I think it's all good. I've seen tiiiiny amounts of footage of it, and the physics seem pretty bouncy and buggy-y, so that's encouraging. My main concern in SA2 wasn't so much that you were forced to play with other characters - it was the fact that most of their gameplay mechanics sucked balls.

Yeah, themes for levels felt off, truck couldn't touch orca in WOAH-value, and the lack of cohesion in the story made it all rather uninvolving. I liked Shadow and I've come to like Rouge though, but otherwise it was pretty much a Halo 2 to me. Not significantly worse than the first game and probably better taken on gameplay merits alone, but lack of real spirit and awe hurt both equally.

Hey, sorry for not replying to this earlier. It had been shoved off the main page so...

Anyway, once you collect all of the emeralds with Sonic you need to collect all the Sol emeralds with Blaze. This is much easier because that's her whole task in the game, so she gets one after each boss, no bonus levels required. The last level is basically Super Sonic and Super Blaze fighting the two versions of Eggman in different dimensions. The upper screen has Super Sonic on it and the lower screen has Super Blaze, and it's controlled like a vertical shooter, basically, as you fly and dodge incoming fire from Eggman.

What I meant by interesting ideas is the dimension/time jumps and the concept of different versions of the same being. In STH trailers, Silver sees Sonic and refers to him as the Iblis Trigger. If you dig around a bit you'll find that the Iblis Trigger basically caused the end of the world. This raises some questions about what Shadow is, or maybe who Silver is?

It explains why this Princess story plays into things, and also why Shadow's driving around the ruins of what looks like Westopolis, while Sonic is running from the orca.

With Blaze being in there it's also safe to assume Silver is from another dimension, just like her. Perhaps the same one? We'll see in november.

Apart from the fact that they're rubbish at playing the game, this, one of two relatively new videos (from what I gather) is pretty cool:

Silver's gameplay definitely looks great in its own right. Now I just want footage of Shadow. What's he up to without the guns I wonder. (Contrary to popular opinion, I thought the guns were quite satisfying to use in the game of the same name.)

Things are looking grim for a Sonic demo after all, what with the demo gone from the japanese TGS site schedule. I still keep my fingers firmly crossed. Reports from EG on the playable demo on the show floor suggests that all three hedgehogs are playable, and I can only assume it's the same demo as the Marketplace one.

All is not doom and gloom though, as I managed to dig up this here trailer:

Right click and save the file, then slap it in a playlist in windows media player. That should do the trick. I have to admit that despite my Sonic fandom the first STH06 trailer didn't really do it for me proper. I mean yes, Sonic, woo! *alone time in bathroom* and all that, but it was nowhere close to a Sonic Adventure 1 intro oh my god-ness.

This is way better though, and the Shadow bits look awesome! I'm extremely excited at this point, and november 17 has my permission to roll on*!

I just.. can't really think of anything cooler than Sonic. His coolness far makes up for every shite thing he's in for me. :D

Anyway, TGS demo. Has it been pulled, does anybody know? It was on the japanese Xbox site a while ago but now it's gone. :O

Yay! And also argh! But mostly yay!

I'm quite frankly insulted by the fact that it's not up here in sweden, but luckily I went through the hassle of obtaining a US silver account back when the HD X-Men 3 trailer premiered there.

It's on its way home, but not quite at Sonic speed I'm afraid.

Okay.. the game surprised me graphically in SOME areas, but all in all its a lazy effort by Sega.

Not impressed and the camera control is god awful. Believe me quez you aren't missing anything...
