15/12/2006 Ã 09:20:33 Nah i don't think it was a great feature, i could hear guys coming miles before they could see me, and sure it makes it easier but i'm just used to the way the old rainbow did it :D --- |

Man since i've got this game, Gears and Cod3 are just collecting dust in the corner :-D So if any of you guys want to join up for some online action just add me on live! But when I get my copy from gamefly, we should do it up. Not sure when that will be, have about 8 games in my queue right now, not entirely sure what I'll be getting next. |

15/12/2006 à 10:35:32 En réponse à GriftGFX (15/12/2006 à 09:49:44) Posté par GriftGFX I'm gonna give it a rental sometime, but I doubt it's going to replace Gears for me. I quite like the design of Gears multiplayer, now if they'd only deliver a patch too! I understand that it's 1) bigger, 2) more tactical (maybe) and 3) some people don't like the classic convention of fighting over weapon possitions..but I think it's very good personally. But when I get my copy from gamefly, we should do it up. Not sure when that will be, have about 8 games in my queue right now, not entirely sure what I'll be getting next. As for gears i also think that GOW multi is pretty good, i'm just more attracted to having different guns to choose from at the beginning and not running like a maniac to a gun position so that you have an advantage.... I like to use tactical positioning and room to room fighting with team communication... I feel that gears is maybe a bit too arcady for my taste and i comes down more to: Who can get the better weapon faster and i'm not that happy with the "roll-move" in gears ..... --- |

15/12/2006 Ã 10:41:38 It's certainly a different pace, and it owes some of its heritage to Unreal (which is like ultimately arcadey) but the cover system slows down the games pace a bit and gives it a more tactical sort of feel than your typical run and gun shooter. |

15/12/2006 Ã 11:02:43 I really like the element of surprise en confusion in the rainbow games, like on some maps it's easy to cut off the other team by holding 2 points, i find it a real challenge to get out of that "blockade" and actually win the game :-), it just gives you the feeling: Even though 4 guys were waiting i still kicked their ass :-D --- |

15/12/2006 Ã 11:20:24 Well it only makes sense that Rainbow would be a more tactical experience than Gears, but when you're playing with a good team against another, it can still bring out a lot of high strategy that might otherwise be lost in a pickup game. |

15/12/2006 à 12:39:59 En réponse à GriftGFX (15/12/2006 à 11:20:24) Posté par GriftGFX I'm not sure I love what Rainbow has done for cover, I like playing my first person shooters in first person, and the shift back and forth between the two views brings up some real issues, imo..doesn't mean it's not a good game, but you should get a little tent and a camp fire to keep you company in that game, when you're behind an object/wall/etc ;) You can hug a wall and wait till someone comes in view and pop him in the head. But most of the time you can see when someones leaning against cover (his elbow/shoulders/legs stick out a bit) So i've had numerous occassions that people were waiting for me to come around a corner and pop me in the head. But you can easily get those people in a couple of different ways... Camping is an issue in every game and it's not more of an issue because of the cover system, trust me! --- |

15/12/2006 Ã 15:23:27 Some of those are pretty damn ridiculous, but also you have to remember that the very first day the game goes on the market it gets played more hours than they ever got to test it. |
