Hey guys, Tekken 5 is now available on the Japanese Playstation store. :D
It's priced at 2000 yen (about 16 US dollars, 10GBP) and this download size is 830MB.

I'll buy it and try it out...

I really want this, is it possible to access the Japanese store with a US PS3? And if it is, are there any drawbacks to purchasing Japanese content? The price is perfect, I agree.

you can open up a new account with region hongkong (go to McDonals.com and the store locator to get a valid hongkong adress...)

problem is, you need a japanese or chinesese creditcard. the system recognizes US or european creditcards :-(

There's a work around for this. Personally I'm going to wait for the USA release, but someone posted this on digg a while back:

Seems to work, from what I hear, atleast..I haven't tried it personally.

What's the deal with sharing DLC games? How does that work and can you do that across regions? Ashame I have few/no PS3 friends.

thats not working here...

I had to have a valid hongkong adress (not just city and region) and as soon as I entered my creditcardnumber the system told me "no valid creditcard information"... I couldn't add any funds at all.

Sharing DLC is like piracy...

So even if it's possible to do it, you still shouldn't.

Sharing is caring. Plus I was saying that I thought there was some sort of official feature for sharing DLC content. Sorta like how Zune allows you to share DRM music with a limited number of other users devices..

Pirating DLC would be like piracy, but that's not what I was asking about.

But if you are sharing content which you have to pay for, to others who wouldn't have to pay for it then ....

Why would they do that, Namco would lose money.

It was a question, and it apears to be a valid one:
Q: How many times can I share a game?
A: The store says you can share up to 5 different Playstation 3's.
And yes, they make less money this way..but you could say the same of the Zune music sharing model too..it's a way of making your fixed DRM purchase seem more free and portable.

But there you have it..I didn't go and make that up, as silly as it may sound to you.

Seems like a pain in the arse, really, since you need to share your account information. Still, anyone want share Tekken with me? :)

SimonM7 Yeah. We harp on about games supposedly being their own artform, yet the majority of players value the aspects shared with other mediums the most. Not exactly an airtight case. (54 minutes ago)
