New Line has won feature rights to Microsoft's hugely popular vidgame "Gears of War" with Stuart Beattie writing and Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey producing via their Temple Hill banner.

game to movie...I don't know about this =(
It could be a sucking issue, especially when they are going for Gears.

Well I watch movies with open minded...so if they make it at leats good, then I am happy.

I want the movie to be like Riddick but with soldier squads.

as long as it keeps me entertained, I'm fine.


Halo I expect to get back on track once Halo 3 is released. Hollywood isn't stupid, some studio or studios will bite when they see the potential profit. Or better yet, MS should just fund it themselves. Then again I don't know a lot about the business aspects of the movie business, so maybe it's easier said than done.

The story couldn't be worse than the game's story. Infact, I bet it'd be miles better.

Yea just wait till Halo 3 releases and show Fox and Universal what they ended up passing on.

I liked the gears story, but of course I'm well aware it isn't exactly lord of the rings :)

i'm not sure about this. one halo maybe but gears???? unless if they do a advent children style movie that might work

Advent Children? Um no, that would never work.

It will be pretty much be like Doom the movie sort of. The game itself was already like a cliche Hollywood blockbuster.

why not??? wouldn't it be less expesinve than doing a doom movie type.hire cgi company and producer adventise the movie on myspace etc. and there u have a blockbuster movie

Doesn't matter, the movie is going to feature live actors, of course that change I suppose.

Summer 2009 is a long ways away, no point in thinking about it.
